People who didn't watch the fight, zip it. Quit looking at the eye and thinking Cambell dominated every single round. It was one of the more exciting fights under 150 lbs (outside of the obvious in Vasquez/Marquez) that we've seen recently. Both guys threw nonstop punches.....and took to give.

Campbell grazed Diaz with the laces on his glove, which opened up the cut over his eye. From that point on, Campbell continued to throw over 100 punches a round damn near, and use veteran tactics to re-open the cut. Like the head butts, punching in the clinch, and constant body/shoulder rough house tactics.

It was a great performance by the vet, and nothing can be taken away from him. But Diaz losing this fight was moreoso because of how flustered he was at the prospect of his face being as grotesquely damaged as it was. Once he saw the blood, the air started leaving his balloon.
Good post! The cut really flustered Diaz and he had never dealt with that before. Even though he was bleeding and couldn't see a thing, he still was throwing punches and trying to fight. Nate fought a great fight and won clearly. Once the cut was open he exploited that weakness which any experienced vet would do. I hadn't seen Campbell fight before and was impressed with him in this fight.

Gotta give Diaz props for finishing the fight even though he probably knew he wasn't going to beat Nate that night.

Juan gets in close, outworks his opponents, and pounds the body ,yes: but it has never been juans fight to fight dirty, juan fight and wins by honestly out working the other guy, not by using dirty tactics to gain an advantage. Anyone who says that the cut wasnt a difference make, im imagining has never been in a real fight.
OK, you're a fanboy/nuthugger. I will ignore your future contributions to this conversation.

I totally agree the cut made the difference. No cut then Juan probably would have won the fight (in my opinion).

The problem is there was a cut. Juan did not handle the cut well at all. Troubling. He needs to do some soul searching before his next fight.

No, you resort to name-calling and insinuate that anyone who has a stance you disagree with doesn't follow the sport.

ok, my main point of that first comment was that cambell didnt fight like juan does, cambell didnt beat him at his own fight. Cambell beat him yes, but nowhere as cleanly or as impressivly(in my opinion) as juan beats his opponents into submission. I dont think anyone could have blamed juan for not wanting to continue fighting with one eye, but he finished the fight.

He's still in the learning stages of his career and has already acomplished more in the ring then nate cambell will end up acomplishing in his entire life time. Obviously there's alot of disagreement, can we all agree that Juan is a better fighter then cambell?

Juan is 24 allright but from what I pointed out earlier in the thread, Juan and Nate are just of the same age boxing-wise and that's 8 years. They both started professional boxing in 2000. Juan now has 34 total fights and Nate has 38.

I have to see how good katsidis looks against a shot Joel Casamayor before I make a judgement
