Juan Manuel Marquez, Oscar de la Hoya, James Toney, Floyd Mayweather, Zab Judah, take your pick.

I personally think Marquez is the most technically sound.

          The first Ramirez fight... yeah.
Julio Cesar Chavez, it's quite an easy fight to score and just about everyone scored it for Whitaker.

Whitaker was actually very active as a lightweight. He went to the body and stood his ground.
Oscar also landed more than twice the number of power punches in the fight.

I guess it depends on what you prefer.

3 rounds for Pernell was rediculous though.

I have to say, just pure boxing skills, it's Pernell Whitaker. He did have fast hands but he just boxed circles around his opponents.
Pernell Whitaker was too unorthodox to be used as an example of being technically sound.

You mean that guy who doesn't work behind the jab?

Cory Spinks is pretty slick (which is another way to say textbook).

Vernon Forrest sticks pretty close to the book too.

Whitaker was not technically sound, he often kept his hands down and would dodge punches just by moving his head, his absurd speed and reflexes were the reason he was able to work with that style.
