One example of a technically sound boxer you may not think of is Arthur Abraham.
He always keeps his hands high and tight, snaps his jab, never puts himself in a bad position, and picks his shots.
      Winky esque.

if i were a trainer, from what i've seen of him (i'm only 21, so just the old fights on espn classic, etc.) i'd make my fighters watch floyd patterson videos. he was very technically sound. hands up. good jab. good upper body movement. fairly light on his feet when he wanted to be. good combinations. good natural athletic ability.

i'm not ranking him as pound for pound best or anything. but from a technical standpoint he was very solid in all areas (again, from what i've seen).

Not to offend, but you must have a warped opinion on what a technically sound fighter is.

i dunt know man. i still think sweet pea was just a pure boxer.. ducking, and dipping.. he had a good arsenal and a great jab..

in the JCC fight, it was masterful, like he would literally just box circles around JCC..

i guess i can agree with the posters that said he was awkward..

Floyd Mayweather, if you ignore the cheating with the elbows.

John David Jackson was pretty slick himself.

Jab jab jab straight left, etc.
