I'm a big time PBF fan yet I agree with Cotto on this one. I would rather see him fight Cotto than Oscar or Hatton again. I think the fight would be more of the same but it has to be made to shut up the haters.

normally, people suggest what they would like to see. suggesting that Cotto wait for PBF to get older and out of his prime to fight makes it sound like you would rather watch the fight at that point.

I said that it would be to his benefit for him to fight Floyd when he is older. That's an observation/opinion. It's by no mean a want. But if you think otherwise of what I said it's cool.

To put it politely that statement is rubbish, Cotto is the biggest Welterweight there is out there. The fans have wanted this fight for a while and it makes sense, the number 1 Welterweight fights the number 2 Welterweight with Cotto putting his WBA on the line and Mayweather his WBC. It would be a superfight, would get alot of PPV buys and it's a fight that everybody wants to see. Floyd has no reason not to take the fight.

Cotto still doesn't have as big of name that Mayweather wants to make a mega-fight

Stop acting like Cotto would fight anyone anywhere please? Mayweather could or could not fight Cotto. If i was him i'd let it go because if he doesn't he will be there and beat Cotto, then another superstar will come calling him out until he loses. I'd become a promoter right away and learn some actual skills so i don't become an Evander Hollyfield, Roy Jones or Bernard Hopkins, fighting over 40.

They're gonna fight man. Even you being a Floyd fan are being fooled by thinking Mayweather is pushing Cotto to the side. He knows Cotto is the #1 guy after Oscar that can bring him a huge payday. Margarito & Cintron don't offer what Cotto has to offer being he'd be 33-0 & WBA & IBF WW Champ at the time.
