One Thing I Noticed About White Champions

You obviously have never heard of Wlad Klitschko... or any of those "Russain" guys.. they get sweet **** all as far embracing goes...They seem to get more of a stage when they become champ, Im not racist one bit, but I noticed when a white boxer becomes a champ its like America embraces them more and talks about them more and not that they shouldnt, but all should be embraced and talked about as much the same.
I also think it has nothing to do with being "white" in Kelly Pavlik's Case.. But more likely that he is NOT pretending to be a Thug, or a Gansta, He is Polite and well spoken.. and always has a smile on his face.. Plus he was the underdog made Good.. and America Loves when the Underdog wins...
Finally, You are a racist Tit.. even if you dont think you are being racist.. you are...Comment

I agree to an extent. White fighters tend to get hyped a lot. A lot of white people start going crazy and act like he's unstoppable. I know a lot of white people who dont even really like boxing but if they see a fight they always want the white guy to win.
But it works both ways. Often people of color tend to discredit white fighters no matter what they do. If he beats a black or brown fighter, the black or brown fighter wasn't good anyway. When the white guy loses, then he's just hype. And GOD FORBID a white guy wins a close decision, forget it. The crying doesnt stop for months. I.e., Duddy v. Campas and Hatton v. Collazo. The puertoricans and mexicans still havent gotten over those two, claiming they were two of the worst robberies ever. Gimmie a ****in break.
So, it evens itself out. I just wish people would stop making such a big deal about race and just appreciate boxing.Comment

I'm not saying that its the case now but you dont have to go very far back to see it VERY prevalent in boxing. Just look at Holmes vs Cooney where the UNDISPUTED HW CHAMPION who is black had to enter the ring BEFORE the white contender. You obviously have never heard of Wlad Klitschko... or any of those "Russain" guys.. they get sweet **** all as far embracing goes...

67% of this country is white. 14% is Latino, 13% is Black and 6% is Asian. Do the math. Most champions are either Latino, Black or Asian, but if there is a legitimately good white champion then 2/3 of the country has a hero who they more likely to feel like they can relate to as champion. They seem to get more of a stage when they become champ, Im not racist one bit, but I noticed when a white boxer becomes a champ its like America embraces them more and talks about them more and not that they shouldnt, but all should be embraced and talked about as much the same.
Personally, I think this also goes a long way in explaining the appeal of MMA, X Games and NASCAR. There aren't a whole lot of sports dominated by white Americans. So, the ones that are are just more appeal to that demographic. It just makes sense that their interest in other sports might wane. It's not racist...it's just human nature to root for people you feel like you can relate to.Comment
