You missed the point, those guys were champs for a long time, Pavlik has one title and no defense yet and Ive seen him on tv so much you would think he was in his 20th defense.

Im just saying exposure, especially since Pavlik won the title. I guess most are casual boxing fans, but looking at Pavlik's skill set he still is an ordinary fighter.
No, after one championship fight with Liston for one of the two heavyweight titles in 1964, Ali became a household name. The same was true of Hearnes, Hagler and Leonard - they were all talked about more in the media and got their pictures in many magazines, than Pavlik after their FIRST title win.
After their first title wins, Bowe, Mercer and Moorer became FAR better known than Klitschko is, although he's won nearly ten title fights now (several WBO a few years ago and IBF more recently).
Im talking about today. People knew Ali from the Olympics and he was widely hated for not going to war. Klitschko is not in America also so Im not referring to fighters outside of fighting over here.
