Beating the old but capable Hopkins, an undefeated Pavlik and an undefeated Dawson would do more for Calzaghe's legacy than beating Jones and Tarver.
But remember that Pavlik might lose to Taylor and Dawson might lose to Johnson.
ditto, but i think johnson has a better chance of winning than does taylor. imo, it is almost certain that taylor will be ko'd again...

Johnson will get outclassed, it's simple as that. Dawson is going to show Johnson he's in a different league compared to some of the other fighters Johnson has faced. If Johnson couldn't eek out a decision against Woods, he's not going to beat Dawson. It's time to move on to the future and Dawson is the future of the LHW division.

Actually I give Taylor a better chance of beating Pavlik, since I had Taylor ahead in the score cards before he got knocked out. Their is a good chance Taylor could outbox Pavlik, in Johnson's case, their is a slim chance he will outbox Dawson let alone knock him out.

Sadly, the fact is Calzaghe won't fight four more fights. He doesn't really even want to fight two more times.

If, and thats still a big 'if', he beats Hopkins then his biggest goal should be to fight Jones Jr. If he can get those two and win them then he should be considered by anyone with a little bit of sense as one of the greatest super middles of all time. Maybe the best actually.

While he may be fighting guys who're past their best, we do have to take into some consideration that he is also well past his best. He's 36 years old for gods sake. Thats a year older than when Jones was getting KO'd by Tarver and Johnson isn't it? Yes, I know he didn't have to drop weight and no, I'm not comparing the two apart from that Calzaghe is getting old.

Even if he beats Hopkins and then retires he should be considered as one of the best of this era and the best super middle. Undefeated two weight world champion with the names he does have is pretty ****ing good!

That's why I think he's going to fight one more fight, either the winner of the Pavlik/Taylor matchup or Roy Jones Jr, and than retire. He can't fight Dawson because he's scheduled for two matchups, one in April and July. I doubt Calzaghe will wait for him, by July Calzaghe would of already chosen his next opponent.

              1- Hopkins
              2- Roy Jones Junior
              3- Tarver

Either 2 or 3 can be other way around.

But where would that leave Joe C's Legacy?
Well if he had those "wins"(keep in mind that the slapper would never beat them in their prime) the Slapping slapartist would triple his credibility and accomplishments as far as i'm concerned.

The only people who think Calzaghe is an all time great are Brits.

Toney - De la Hoya!?!?! I agree even as a massive fan of Calz that he isn't and never will be an all-time great of the likes of Robinson, Leonard and Ali but he pisses all over De la Hoya and Toney's career! One of whom is just a boxing celebrity who should take his shiney Golden promotions on stage not in a professional boxing ring!
