I think Calzaghe wants the winner of the Taylor-Pavlik matchup. Dawson doesn't deserve a shot against Calzaghe until he proves he's a legit fighter. He can do that by beating Glen Johnson in April and his mandatory Adrian Diaconu in July. Right now Dawson is not even in Calzaghe's radar.

His win against Chris Eubank was impressive, (who I think is a HOF fame fighter) and despite what some people think Chris Eubank looked like the old Eubank and Calzaghe outclassed him.

Mario Viet, Evans ashira, Jeff Lacy, Saiko Bika, Peter Manfredo and Mikkel Kessler. Now add Hopkins and Pavlik.

Mayweather Jr, please dont ever bring up evans ashira in the same conversation as de la hoya or mayweather jr.

              But with these wins :
              hopkins
              rjj
              tarver
              dawson

I think Joe C goes down as an all time great.

They are still 4 massive names.
Joe Calzaghe is already an All-Time great.

No matter who Joe beats the hater/deniers on message boards will always have an excuse. Hopkins, Tarver and Jones will be "way past their primes" just like Eubank. Dawson will be "green, overrated and never beat anyone" just like Kessler. Pavlik will be "a blown up MW and overrated."

Calzaghe will never get credit by these people. Most boxing experts acknowledge that JC is a great fighter and the GOAT at SMW.

                At SMW yes.

                But now, not ATG yet.

With Hopkins, Pavlik, Tarver and Dawson definetely.

If Floyd puts a few more wins over big names hes there to.

We could have 2 all time greats from the same era, here guys. Lets not write them off so early.

I wouldn't be too impressed if he beats Jones and Tarver, I think both are pretty much done. Of course if Tarver beats Woods then yes, it will be an impressive victory for Calzaghe.

Beating the old but capable Hopkins, an undefeated Pavlik and an undefeated Dawson would do more for Calzaghe's legacy than beating Jones and Tarver.
But remember that Pavlik might lose to Taylor and Dawson might lose to Johnson.

true, but floyd is fighting odh again in sept. which proves absolutely nothing and only proved that oscar couldn't beat a GREAT jr. welter the first time.

and then floyd will retire AGAIN until probably sometime in january 2009 and by then i'm not sure i'll care anymore who he fights.

unless, immediatley after he kicks oscar's ass again he SIGNS to fight cotto,
