Khan is still way overrated and seriously protected. Okay he is still young and is coming up, but his fighting doesnt warrant the amount of hype he gets over here in the UK, last night i nearly threw up after hearing the following statements in the pre fight build up

1)Amir Khan is the biggest thing to come out of the Olympics since Sugar Ray Leonard (according to Frank Warren)

2)Gary St Clair was a legitimate world class fighter. (no ****ing way)

3)Gary St Clair Sparred with Kosta Tsysu who was p4p number one (since when?)

4)Amir Khan could fight Katsidis next if Katsidis wins over Casmayor (Make that fight happen please, lol)

The minute they put Khan in the ring with someone his own size, who can actually box, you will see the real khan, even last night he got hit with some bombs, anyhow St Clair wasnt feather fisted, khan would have been in trouble.

The worst thing about khan is that his offence is his defence, he couldn't time an egg, he doesnt look to time a guy coming in with a shot, he just throws shots regardless of what the opponent is doing, its like they are not even there and that sums up his arrogance. If look at the fight, when khan was getting hit, it was because he was busy throwing shots for the sake of throwing shots.

He also doesnt have the best stamina in the world either.

The kid is talented no doubt, but for me he has a poor chin, doesnt have a great boxing brain, and is being matched up well, when he fights a prime world class fighter in the future, i think it could all end in tears.

You could be right TS but lets look at the facts here and forget the hype.

Khan has gone from fighting the likes of Steffy Bull and Willie Limond to Graham Earl and Gairy St Clair within six months, he blasted Earl away and completely shut out St Clair.

We are bound to find flaws in Khans style because he is still virtually a novice but even with those flaws he was able to comfortably beat a guy who has recently held world titles and has fought the likes of Vivian Harris and Diego Corrales.

I am not convinced that Khan is the next superstar but I have to concede that he is a very good fighter who has shown vast improvements in the last year. All fighters are fed easy fights to bolster their records but to take either an Earl or a St Clair fight in only your 15th and 16th fights consequently was very bold and a risk IMO, Khan came through both those fights very easily so.......

To talk about world titles within a year is ****** IMO but he should be looking at European titles and look to improve further.

Take the hype out and judge him as a prospect and you have to concede he is doing well.

The reason why Khan is hyped was because of the olympics, ITV (Terristial Tv) and Frank warren...It isnt the boys fault IMO, He isnt overrated but he is really really overhyped, But he isnt any different from most of our fighters from the Frank warren stable...But they all got find out etc Naz...Hatton.

Impressed to a certain extent, St Clair was an excellent test for a kid whos had 15 fights, St Clair basically spent the night practising his defence but when he did throw he proved that once again Khan is easy to hit (by someone who shouldnt have got near him). It also proved imo that he is a frontrunner who runs out of ideas if things aint going according to script, his speed and superior movement alone were enough to ensure that Khan cruised to a victory. On the plus side this was what he needs, this 12 rounder was better for him than 10 quick blowouts. On this performance he beats thaxton but hes nowhere near ready for even the likes of Katsidis let alone Diaz.
