How can an old Champion rise to another level? He's old....where was the post that somebody thinks he rose another level? Before Pac...there was Gerry.........Desperation for another fighter for P.I. won't be him.

Pernell was losing every round, risking a superfight against DelaHoya, before he KO'ed Hurtado.
Julian Jackson's face was getting busted up before he Ko'ed Herol Graham.
Micky Ward was losing every round before he Ko'ed Alfonso Sanches by a bodyshot.
JC Chavez was way behind the scorecard before He Ko'ed Meldrick.
Arce was losing before before he Ko'ed Rojas by a bodyshot.
Vasquez was beaten up badly, knocked down twice, before he Ko'ed Gonzales.
        It's BOXING!
        It's a fight.
You don't always have to win every round you know.
uh, no. You are absolutely wrong about that part, actually.

War was running away the whole entire fight against Sanchez. I would not expect him to win again if they had ever fought. I saw it, it was actually pretty horribly bad.
Arce and Louis were both losing their fights, and they both recieve speculation because of those fights. Arce probebly would lose to Rojas if they fought again, and I would give Conn a very good chance at winning if they had an immediate rematch.
Chavez was losing, but he was actually landing very meaningful, painful shots on Meldrick. If the fight was 15 rounds, would you have expected for Taylor to last?

Julian Jackson is basically an exception to this trend. he basically would get beaten up by every one of his opponents before he knocked them out, just because of his enormous power. even lousy opponents could bust him up.

last time I checked, Penalosa was not doing any major work on Gonzalez and did not have monsterous power. this kind of thing was not commonly seen throughout his career, and he has had a long one.
Theres a big difference between all these fights if you look into them

          We can agree or disagree.
But you do get my point right?
          A win is a win.
And the mexican fans need to stop crying, man up and deal with it. Penalosa WON! period.

            Who contested that?

I just said it was a fluke because Penalosa wasn't landing any punches, wasn't winning any rounds, and KO'd him.

Just like Irish said... if the rematch happened, I'd push all-in on Gonzalez.

Caballero vs Penalosa??? Penalosa will fight Caballero provided in the rules that the one who will back 3 steps losses!!!
Obviously, Gerry has problems fighting taller opponents who keeps backing down...

Penalosa's style is best against fighers who comes to fight... such as Arce & DPdL...

I love to see Penalosa vs Rafael Marquez or Israel Vazquez!!!
Many boxing fans will think this matchup is murder, but I don't think so~

Penalosa sucks period, too bad Gonzalez cant make weight anymore, or else he would've gotten his belt back easy.
Maybe no need to see more fights of Gerry Penalosa! Here's more for you~~~ All Penalosa's Win are convincing, all his losses are controvercial!!!
To say his win was a fluke is REDICULOUS~~~ cause his doing it over & over.

Penalosa is far excellent fighter than Manny Pacquiao!!!

Penalosa has having a hard time fighting an opponent who is not willing to fight, like Jhonny Gonzales..... Sure Gonzales could have win that fight by decision but its boring... because he's not willing to mix it up with Penalosa!!!

when are yall goin to wake up and realize all hes saying is that Gonzalez was undoubtedly winning in that fight, and there was no change in momentum in the fight to suggest Penalosa would have done better up until the knockdown, and thats it.

In other words, after seeing that fight, it seems logical that if they had a rematch, Gonzalez would win. why? because the fight would likely be about the same, except its very unlikely that Gonzalez would get caught with the same exact punch.
Yes, Penalosa won the fight. Nobody is taking anything away from him. but Id be pretty surprised if anyone thought that Penalosa would win in a rematch after seeing that fight.
Who would bother to see the Rematch? When fans now know that Gonzales isn't willing to mix it up with Penalosa!!! Fans pay to see a FIGHT!!!
