Gerry Penalosa likes to counter punch. Whether its a lucky punch or not, Jhonny threw a jab or punch, Gerry saw an opening and punch the liver. Jhonny went down and did not get up. Gerry won. Fair and square. Deal with it.

      How about Gerry vs Molitor?

If Gerry and Ponce have a rematch, i see Ponce trying to box by backing up. Like he did in the last few rounds of their fight.

Penislosa has been given TOO much credit landing that shot against Gonzales. His fans are acting as if Gerry went into the fight thinking this:

"Lang balang kalangmbuaq, I will go into this fight and lose every round giving making my Mexican opponent think he will certainly win the fight. Then, I will turn everything around with a precisely positioned body shot to the kidney that will end the fight! ****alkan lanak mualanqua HAHAHA!!!"

          **** outta here.

i never said he didnt deserve the win. a win is a win. he doesnt deserve some of the credit his fans are boasting about. he was losing the fight clear and simple. yet some of his fans are talkin as if dude was destroying Johnny and just decided to put him out of his misery.

That fight leaves me no doubt that Gonzalez is a better fighter than Penalosa. He fought for like 50 seconds combined for the entire fight, and one of his punches landed perfectly.
There is a rule in boxing, if you can't breathe then you can't continue.

Penalosa said he'd fight the rematch again at 118, but Gonzalez isn't interested in making the weight. Penalosa isn't busy enough to hang in there with the younger fighters, but he definitely has the skill and determination to outfight these guys.

You can say that John Tate was better than Mike Weaver, but who really remembers the first 14 rounds?

you can easily find a round. gonzalez' punches were all being blocked. he threw in good body shots and penalosa offered nothing in return other than an occasional right hand. gonzales was winning but it wasnt a sweep
