As I think about it. I don't guess I'm so much against the Floyd/DLH fight. I think I'm just more dissapointed in it, from a fan standpoint. Floyd's not getting any younger himself. He chances breaking his hand(s) in every fight now. I guess what I'm trying to say is.. He already has all the money he'll need in three lifetimes. Why not spend the precious time you have left in this sport, securing your legacy as an all time great, rather than fighting guys you've already beat just to pad your bankroll even more. And I hope he beats DLH, and then fights Cotto. Let's say he loses to DLH. The fight with Cotto loses some of it's excitement, imo. Because then, if he loses to Cotto.. No big deal, cause Cotto just beat a guy that lost to an over the hill, past prime DLH.

That said. I think he beats DLH again. And boxes circles around Cotto.

oscar lost the belt to floyd so the champion deserves a rematch.
williams has done nothing but beat margarito, collazo hasnt done anything to be a top guy at this weight, margarito and cintron are locked to fight each other, maybe the winner of that should fight williams, and the winner of that fight might deserve a fight againts floyd. mosely is comening of a lose. (so is oscar but it was his belt). Cotto is the only guy that i see that is a clear runner up for floyd,

in floyds mind.. besides dollar signs... oscar is one of the most accomplished active fighters there is... in floyds mind.. if he beats him, twice even... it DOES help secure his legacy... in the meantime allowing for cotto to establish himself even more as a name... so he can bank on that fight down the road

i was stateing that he clearly won his fight so besides the rematch clause on the contract, there is no reason for that fight.

My question is how much of this is because people are mad that the fight didnt live up to the hype?

why pavlik-taylor II good? = because IMO it was fight of the year for 2007, not only that kelly pavlik was an underdog in the fight, having being knocked down many fans expected taylor to win until pavlik got back and pulled an upset in the 7th round to score a TKO. in this rematch taylor will have a chance at getting redemption.

why mayweather-dlh NOT okay? = to me, the fight was one of the most pathetic fights i've seen in 2007 with many hoping to be a great fight, it broke tremendous records from past ppv (like lewis v.s holyfield, & tyson-lewis) oscar dlh was an underdog in the fight, mayweather won the fight via a close split decision, the rematch everyone knows mayweather will win again but it's a pointless rematch, mayweather just wants more money since in may 5 he only got 20 mil, in this rematch he's hoping to get more $ ().

Oscar wasn't even an active fighter pre-DLH/Mayweather 1. Beating Oscar twice does look good on a resume' though, I'll give ya that. I'm not really sure how much more Cotto is expected to establish himself. Even $ wise. I would say other than DLH, Cotto is the biggest fight for Mayweather.

Meh, that really has little to do with it, as far as I'm concerned. I actually really enjoyed the first fight. Now a Mayweather/Hatton rematch... That might just send me into fits.
