It's not only up to Margarito. It's up to his promoter and I don't see Top Rank letting a risk fight like this happen with Cotto in the wings. Top Rank has Cotto and Margarito. If one were to lose, it makes things a lot harder to get a new opponent from a rival promoter.

I agree, that was a ****** move, he may want to fight Forrest but he should have learned from the Williams incident that he should consult with Arum.

There's no point fighting at 154 it's a worthless division to put it mildly. All the money and significant fights are at 147. His manager Sergio Diaz must be a real moron to make those ridiculous public challenges. Arum is going to be pissed and rightfully so.

What you fail you realize is that Margarito DID NOT want to fight Williams. He questioned his record saying "who has Paul beaten to deserve a shot at my title". But Paul enforced his mandatory position and got the fight after the WBO threatened to strip Margarito of his title.

The main reason Mayweather bouth out his contract is so he can get more money for himself. He also did it because Golden boy and Top rank had beef back then.
