Roy Jones Isn't "active" Enough, So No I Wouldn't Say He's Back. HE DOESN'T THROW ENOUGH PUNCHES
Roy Jones is back.

People laughing about him making a comeback now are pitiful. Roy Jones went out and proved tonight that he still has gas in the tank, and Trinidad looked the best he has in years tonight.
That said, I would take Jones to beat Calzaghe and Hopkins...and anyone else in the middle to light-heavy division in the world. Jones/Dawson would make for a great fight!Comment

This is honestly funny.
He fought a blown up welterweight. He fought a guy who wasn't sharp. His timing was off. His reflexes diminished. A little slower then usual. Past his sell by date.
And he did pretty much what he was supposed to do.
What was so impressive about it?Comment

wasn't you the same guy saying this fight made no sense? not attacking I'm just saying I could have sworn I remember reading somewhere on here that you said that..Yes, I said it. Roy Jones is back.
Roy Jones is practically unbeatable if he fights like that. Felix Trinidad had flashbacks to Winky Wright.
Jones using the Hands up Winky Wrights style defense is exactly what he needs to do to become the #1 p4p fighter again.
It allows him to spend his time thinking, and it allows him to use his outlandish hand speed to pick his opponents apart. Dare I say, he does Winky Wright better than Winky Wright does Winky Wright?
I am glad that Roy finally came around and stopped fighting like the Roy of old, and started fighting like he needs to be fighting.
He can no longer rely on his reflexes for defense, and it appears the he finally realized that.
truth is Roy opened a lot of eyes but so did Tito, I picked Trinidad to win solely on his power and Jones Jr's KO prone chin, Trinidad didn't land flush and he didn't let his hands go which in my analysis I stated that if he doesn't do that Roy should wreck him, thats EXACTLY what happened, notice how early on Trinidad let his hands go and got the better of the first 6 rounds, had he continued this fight would have been much more competitive, once Roy started confusing him he folded, he was thinking more than punching, moving but not throwing and he paid the price..
bottom line shouts out to Roy Jones Jr for a job well done but Felix Trinidad is a legend in my eyes, he has NOTHING to be ashamed of, the ones who should be ashamed are those people who walked out of the arena and didn't stay long enough to cheer on their guy, fake mother****ersComment

I love Roy, he's one of my favorites, but he could have done more, he didn't really try to KO Tito as much as he could have. If he pressured him for two straight rounds he could have dismantled him. The one thing I'm thinking, is that he was seeing how much he would have down the stretch after making weight. If he fought Calzaghe he was maybe thinking it'd go 12, and was trying to see if he'd have enough down the stretch to keep up with a decent pace?Comment
