Oh and why is nobody fighting Berto, JCC Jr and Gomez didn't want any part of him. Berto is way more credible than Gomez, he's actually the type of opponent Cotto's been beating throughout his carreer: A prospect who will go on to do great things after his loss and will suffer no shame on that single blemish.

You have got to be kidding me...Clottey and Luis Collazo always seem to get screwed because they are too good!!...Heck why not offer the young Stud Andre Berto (HBO has been Showcasing him of late).......I mean come on!!! Enough is Enough.....We fight fans deserve the best possible matchups!!!

mayweather hand picks all of his fiters , where as cotto states on a consitent basis that he doesnt care who he fites he just lets his promoters choose that for him. so who cares if they give him a safe fite here and there. he just wrapped up wins over MOsely, Judah, torres, quintana, and urkal. all very very tough fiters and he didnt pick any of them just simply used his fist to go work. in that sense , one safe fite here is alright espcially when its appealing to fans seeing as how theres a potential fite with margarito. when has mayweather done anything for his fans. he fites for money not legacy .

Cotto has his sights on mayweather. he is being wise and waiting. why should cotto jeapordize his #2 slot behind floyd by fighting williams when he don't have to? and who is williams anyway? what he do to deserve a fight with cotto?

oh now you gonna tell me beating margarito makes him worhty of fighting Cotto? pleeze.

williams should prove himself by beating judah or mosley cintron or berto.

Cotto and Top Rank are doing it brilliantly, as they wait for lil floyd to come out of hiding. Or to see if HBO forces Oscar to fight the punk again in a fihgt nobody wants to see.

LOL!! The double standards are hilarious.. Why should Cotto take a challenge? The same reason Floyd should. If anybody out there can beat Cotto, then obviously they deserve Floyd over him, so why wouldn't you want him to prove his worth by taking on challenges? It isn't like he's proven and can retire tomorrow as an atg, HOFer, or even legitimate super star. This is so ****** and reinforces the fact that Cotto is an overhyped/protected fighter who simply has good boxing skills, a consistent attack, and a bit of momentum.

Wow, you have to either know very little about boxing, be a complete moron or a combination of both to make such a statement. Gomez has the skill, determination and toughness to **** with Cotto all night but unlike Cotto, Gomez has a much better chin. If Gomez is as determined and in good shape as when he fought Gotti, I'm leaning towards Gomez by KO within 10. If he struggles to make weight, then he gets out worked and stopped within 8. I know Gotti was over the hill but Gomez was in good shape and was extremely determined. Don't sleep on Gomez.

Concerning Margarito and Judah, if Judah can stay away from Magarito's power and use good ring generalship and footwork, he wins by UD. However, we all know that is easier said than done. Judah is going to have to have a higher punch out put than what he had against Cotto.

At this stage, Zab Judah needs another career defining win and he should be sick of losing at the top level now. If Judah loses this fight, he should seriously consider retirement. But he's probably broke and needs to keep fights past his prime. Shame.

Do you think for one second that HBO can force Oscar to fight ANYBODY? If Oscar wants to fight Mayorga or Vargas again HBO will be on their knees begging to show it. And beating Margarito really does make Williams worthy of fighting Cotto.

what is cotto's handlers doing? pitting cotto against an unknown would not boost his career, the more ugly boy floyd would reject him. but if he fight and win the likes of williams, margarito, cintron, or judah, his dreamfight with ugly boy might come true. his handlers maybe expecting for an easy win for cotto. this is the first mismatch of 2008, i hope this is the last.
