Originally posted by Money May View PostOK, so just by being in great shape, you win the fight? Last time I checked, BHOP was ALWAYS in shape! ALWAYS. Unmatchable conditioning, says who? Who has pushed him? OK, lets look at the fighters that he fought from the States, (I don't know the guys that he beat over there)
Lacy- Homerun hitter, with minimal BOXING skills
Manfredo- Contender bust
He overwhelmed THEM, then these two guys fight and have a stinker on the May-Hatton card?
Listen, this is will the toughest fight of Joe's LIFE! He ain't never been in there with Oscar, Tito, Jones Jr, Winky, Tarver, Taylor and his resume don't have those kind of names. Mark my words, BHOP has been here before and Joe's work rate will NOT make overwhelm BHOP.
Now don't get it twisted, I believe that Joe is a great boxer, with a very high work rate. I am by no mean a hater of Joe, I just know the sport. But, this will NOT be a walk in the park for Joe like EVERYONE seems to make it. We can agree to disagree sir....
Funny how you only mentioned Lacy and Manfredo. (Americans)
Joe fought tougher guys than those 2.
Popkins will give you a little hope in the beginning of the fight. Dirty clinching, right hands at the back of the head, charging in with his head ect...
Joe will figure him out by round 3 or 4, he'll get his rhythm going and from then on it'll be just a matter of time before the fight is over and Joe will win via UD.
Oscar, Tito, Winky are all smaller than him.
Popkins lost to Taylor, who is his size. He lost to him twice.
He beat a rubbish Tarver. That's basically it.
Popkins is is 2-2 in his last 4 fights.
He barely beat Wright.
I don't understand how you can lean towards him.

JC is best athlete in boxing. Landed a thousand punches against lacy and was still throwing an incredible volume in round 12. Hes a FREAK

Fight not worth watching
Hopkins has almost no chance in this fight. Unless Kessler was an abolute stiff, Hopkins will be lucky to pick up a couple of rounds.

Floyd doesn't throw over 1000 punches per fight though.
So when you think about it, Joe's conditioning is one of the best p4p.
I'm won't argue who's conditioning is better, it's not easy, different weight class, different styles.

im split on this... on one side i wanna see bhop continue to win at this ridiculous age and beat someone who hasnt been beaten...
on the other hand.. bhop never shuts the HELL UP... u give that dude a podium and a mike and forget it, he ll talk about himself for days.. and if he beats joe we ll never hear the god damn end of it.... and also... i cant stand how he rushes in with his head ALL THE DAMN TIME...
on the other hand again... i sincerely dont think joe is as great as people make him seem to be... his resume is shallow, and i think hes been a champion for so long cuz there just hasnt been any other competition at this weight... theres been competition... not like the WW division
im sure ill catch a ton of slack for this... but if roy never left 168... joe would of never been a champion... just like the only reason bhop took over middleweight is when roy left the division...
but im gonna go for the underdog on this one and hope bhop pulls this out of his ass at 43

It's a good fight, I think it will be a close but clear cut Calzaghe win. Hopkins is good against southpaws so we have to keep this in mind in during the fight. If Calzaghe wins it's still a huge win for him and please do not claim Hopkins is well past it at 43, both Joe and Bernard are late bloomers and are near thier primes. Hopkins less so but he still looked good against Tarver.
Calzaghe UD 118-110 or 117-111.

Regardless of the size of the oppenents, I was trying to show you the difference in the OPPOSITION sir. That was my point in bringing that out.
Now, let me look at the NO-NAME fighters that he has fought...
Evans Ashira, Mario Veit, Kabary Salem...who ARE THESE GUYS? Name ONE elite fighter on his resume..just one.
Listen, boxing here in the States is years ahead of anywhere else in the world! The best fighters that the UK have to offer will come here and get exposed! I.E. Naseem Hamed- Barrera- UD, Mayweather- Hatton- 10 rd TKO...
what will be Joe's fate? Guess we BOTH will see.
