Hatton is just a tough little hobbit, with a hand-picked resume of his own.

Every boxer has a "hand picked" resume. Some more so than others.

past prime - De La Hoya

He will never face a prime, world-class welterweight like Cotto, or even Williams or Cintron, because he's not 100% sure he would defeat them!

Calzaghe faced and defeated the best prime, undefeated, world-class super middleweight in Mikkel Kessler. Why won't Floyd fight Cotto?
this is one of the greatest threads i have ever read on the boxing scene. plain and basic common sense.

totally agree ... but im sure you can see that Mayweather doesnt really live up to that statement, as has been previously stated he, apart from hatton who was supposedly in his prime, has fought guys in decline.

oh and i agree Hatton has had his fair share of handpicked opponents ..... thats part and parcel of being a Frank Warren cash cow as Amir Khan is finding out

the only guy he fought in his prime with no excuses is castillo and we all saw what happened there. he fought a prime corrales who was about to go to jail and a prime hatton who did not belong in the welterweight division.

It's easy to pick fights with the best when you don't have a big name like Margarito. He wants money just as bad as everyone else.

Do you think if Oscar made an offer for more money to Margarito, that he wouldn't take it? You'd probably praise Margarito for fighting Oscar.

Oh yeah, he's a true warrior and would spit in Oscar's face and fight Cotto for free.

You make as many excuses discrediting Floyd's past opponents as the Floydboys do defending him.
