Do you know what "discrediting" is? If Larry would have pointed out advantages and reasons why Floyd won, then THAT would be discrediting Floyd's win. Larry pointed out that the crowd was booing and leaving. The crowd wanted Floyd to take more risk and put down Baldomir. Thats not "discrediting", thats being demanding.

What about focusing on the excitement level of the fight instead of looking at Floyd's actual performance being a form of discrediting?

In truth, when Mayweather wants to talk about money and fame before a fight with someone like Jose Luis Castillo instead of actually talking about his opponent, I feel that is discrediting Castillo.

lets be real here. Why would the crowd boo and leave and why would Larry say what he said? lets no pull punches. Because they felt Floyd didnt stand and fight. It was kind of like, "We know you can stick and move but finish this bum". Floyd stans are quick to praise Floyd for his reaction but he was feeling like that BEFORE Merchant interviewed him and Merchant was the catalyst that caused Floyd to manifest his emotions as a reaction towards Merchant. Merchant's sentiments towards Floyd's performance is of no importance in comparison to what the crowd felt.

It's not a matter of Larry being wrong. You could say Larry is doing his job... asking a tougher question that maybe Floyd doesn't want to hear. But guess what?

Ask that kind of question then don't be surprised if you get that kind of response.

Mayweather already heard the crowd boo.

Then he got to hear from a so-called "neutral" HBO commentator about how ****ing boring the fight was. I know all he did was say what the crowd did, but he REMINDED him of it. Floyd already had it down pat that the crowd wasn't pleased, and then Merchant decides that talking about Floyd's domination wasn't a good option, so he decided to focus on the negative.

I'm not quick to praise him for losing his cool, but I can understand why he would be furious at Merchant for doing what he did.

i didnt say you praised his reaction, which i feel was warranted, but i just dont think anyone was discrediting his performance, just unpleased with how he went about executing a predictable win.

It definately is not a fight of Floyd's that I am keen to rewatch a bunch of times though.

Some of his fights (most actually) at 130 after he beat Hernandez, and before he switched trainers...

FYI, those fights are Genaro Hernandez, Angel Manfredy, Carlos Rios, Justin Juuko, Carlos Gerena and Gregorio Vargas

... are actually quite a bit more boring that Mayweather-Baldomir, because he was even more focused on defense in those fights.
You didn't like Manfredy or the Rios fight? He was really offensive in the rios fight. And the vargas fight made it worthwhile just because of this:

"This is the second time Floyd has turned southpaw"

                      "Thrid time. Thrid time."
