I mean, he said good win, but it's not really what we were looking for when you get down to the core of what he was saying.
I can understand how Floyd would take that as discrediting.
It's true too, because a lot of people said that Mayweather's win over Baldomir wasn't that impressive, because he didn't sit down on combinations, or didn't do this, or didn't do that. He didn't beat him convincingly enough, which is weird, because he shut him out.Comment

Merchant WAS short-selling it. He was essentially saying.. "Yeah, you fought perfectly, but.. I say you still need MORE." It can be taken as offensive.
Whatever job you do, imagine if you did it perfectly and someone says.. Nah, a little more.Comment

Theres an old saying. "Its not what you say its how you say it" If you feel like Larry wasnt trying to discredit his victory I respect your opinion. But it came across that way to some people including Floyd it seems.Comment

Maybe not, but the quick, "You even said it yourself!" seemed like a way to try to make it sound less threatening because he saw Floyd's expression change.
I don't think the question was benign, but I could be wrong.Comment
