That was a year prior to the Mayweather fight, with no fights in between. What about the 20 months before the Mayorga fight? Z e r o fights.

Many of you also fail to admit that Cotto's win over SSM is more significant than PBF over DLH. Comparing the two opposing fighters (DLH and SSM) SSM has had the more significant career as of late, especially when DLH has not won a significant fight in over 4 years, and SSM is 5-1 in his last 6 fights(including the loss to cotto). One has to admit that SSM is a more credible opponent at this point in his career, if you can't see that, you are blind and biased.

In the two years leading up to their fights with Cotto and Mayweather respectively, Shane had back to back knockout wins over Vargas and a dominating performance over Collazo, Oscar had the Mayorga win.

Some of Shane's wins were over Vargas. A guy that Oscar beat up years ago. To be fair, Oscar would have that record vs the guys Shane fought.

          Would Shane have beaten Hopkins?

Did Oscar beat him? What's your point? Shane would have put on a better showing than Oscar did and would not have gotten knocked out. At the same 156 catchweight, I think Shane would have given a respectable performance against Bernard, and possibly gotten a split decision.

why do people try to take awys from either of these fighters. So mosely wasn't in his prime, so what, that doesn't mean that he still isn't a heck of a fighter. Cotto impressed me with his ability to take a punch, his timing and his speed both looked greatly improved since the judah fight. True de la hoya might have past his prime too but i don't think there were any welter's on may 5th that could have won that fight other than floyd. Why do people seem to forget that floyd had no business fighting at jr middle and that is why on fight night he weighed the same as he would have for a fight at 147. Shane and Oscar may not be great anymore but they are both still good, there is no need to act like they are bums.

I hope you're not seriously suggesting that Floyd knocks out Shane. Please tell me that's not what you're saying.
