Let's say Mayweather fought and beat Margarito easily (the obvious outcome). The public doesn't like Floyd anymore than they did. He beat a relative nobody who brought few fans. Floyd's next fight wouldn't be any more successful because his most recent opponent was an essential nobody to the general public.

Further, if you're not going to redact the statement I quoted and say Mayweather would lose, then the whole argument is moot. You don't duck people you can beat easily... you simpy ignore them because they aren't worth your time. Which is exactly what Floyd did and other top fighters will continue to do.

If anything he is the most underrated fighter at welterweight and threads like this prove he is.

The man is a real live threat to anyone... yet many who feel threatened by him being ANY good will always attack him.

He is obviously not the second coming of JC Chavez or Sal Sanchez, or Erik Morales but the man is damn good.

People will always use the fact that he only held the WBO belt as a negative... but the fact of the matter is no one would fight him so he could have a shot at the others. Spinks wouldn't fight him and elected to fight a retired Gonzalez instead of Margarito, and when Judah took the belts he too wouldnt fight him and chose to fight Cosme Rivera instead, when Baldomir took the sooo called undisputed championship from Judah even he wouldnt fight him. And we don't even have to bring Mayweather who also chose not to fight him and fight lesser opposition for lest money. Even Cintron who has something to prove just keeps saying... "Forget about what happend with Margarito"..... Williams who fought a very competitive fight (It was competitive even though Williams won) and was a great fight doesn't want a rematch.

The fact that he was avoided for a long time is REAL .... sure people can try to say that it wasn't true... but they are only kidding themselves.
