The Oscar fight was prolly the biggest challenge in his career yet people only remember Oscar was 34 vs 30 year old Mayweather. How unfair! How aout Mayweather making his debut as a 154 pounder, having started his career as a 130 pounder?? How about the ring's reduced size? How about the gloves' reduced size, all set by Oscar? How about Mayweather weighting in 148 pounds vs Oscar's 154 in the fight night? This was a huge risk for Mayweather. He did it because Oscar's a crowd favorite (i mean everyone likes Oscar even I) and he knew Oscar would bring the goods in (read ppvs and purse, whatnot..)
Here we ****en go again. Mayweather is not a small man, he didn't look small to me next to Delahoya who also started at 130 smart ass.

have you seen what the heavyweight weigh? or that boxing once had what is it 7 divisions not the many we have now, Delahoya was old and hadn't fought in a while did you consider this?

We have all of these pages in this thread yet not one Margarito supporter can explain why Margarito deserves a shot at Floyd Mayweather. They simply can't because Margarito, in the grand scheme of things compared to the elites, hasn't accomplished anything of note other than picking up a vacated belt.

Weather you guys want to admit it or not margarito was deserving of a shot to the undisputed welter champ it didnt matter who it was mayweather, judah, baldo, at that time. he has been the longest rank welter in the top ten and has defeated the most top ten contenders (the ring rankings) than anyone else in the division.

he lost to williams now hes got to climb his way back to the top.

he has been turned down by mosely, mayweather, they chose not to fight him risk versus reward if that doesnt tell you something you are an idiot
or someone who hates margarito because some of his delusional fans, samething can be said about floyd im sure his crazy fans that defend him at every turn have turned once floyd fans to dislike him (it did for me)

the burden is on floyd (not you fans)to defend his championship at welter against the most deserving challenger

why should he fight someone he already know he is going to win? I dont know probably because its his job. why do you think he fought mitchell, bruseles, baldo?

What surprise me most what length people will go to defend their favorite fighter. They lose all common sense. Margarito was the #1 rank contender and he doesnt deserve to be in the ring with floyd, and now cotto (in future williams) but you floyd boys will say that cotto doesnt deserve to be in the ring with him

        Well who the **** does!

        Nobody I guess right.
floyd is only the champ in boxing deepest division yet their is no one deserving enough to be in the ring with floyd
asin sen, 2120, gave a great post so shut your yap and write about a fighter that you wish will be good so you can look like you're somebody, and keep bringing down margarito though you aint doing a good job but keep hating.

Oscar only had 2 fights at 130, his 12th and 13th fight, compared to the 27 that Floyd had.

Oscar was coming down from 160 (sort of) compared to Floyd coming up from 147.

Please tell me that you don't actually think there wasn't a huge size advantage for De La Hoya.

No one has ever said that Cotto doesn't deserve a shot at Mayweather post Mosley fight. I think pretty much all (except maybe a couple idiots) agree that Cotto deserves a shot.

I get it floyd is god. Listen, if you're good, you're good but you can't challenge one man that is bigger then you and then say, "but im small, feel sorry for me" not going to happen, if you got balls to step up, then step up or step down! Think about it.

Its now official floyd stepped down in weight to pick on the smaller fighters at welterweight from jr. middleweight.

You're the one who likes to talk **** instead of keeping to the subject at hand.

I couldn't resist it was too easy of a come back, seriously, you are delusional if you think Margarito isn't a good fighter.

Dude, you can't have it both ways. Either he gets major props for fighting De La Hoya because of size, or he gets massive props for beating a P4P elite in Ricky Hatton, regardless of size.

Also, the reason Cotto deserves a shot at Floyd and Margarito didn't even though both were #1 contenders is because Floyd is the champ now, so the best in the division, other than Floyd is Cotto, and Baldomir had that honor when Floyd chose Baldomir over Margarito.

this was the second post of the thread you non talented fake journalist....

nobody said MARG was "Great" try and pay attention... But he WAS the #1 ranked welter by RING and the longest ranked welter and has more WINS over ranked welters then any current welter and one time and FLOYD was offered his career payday TWICE to fight him ..

once before the Mitchell and once before and after the Judah fight.
Floyd excuses were , he had 4 losses..Baldo had 9 Gatti had 5..

excuses were Marg only fought BUMS.. yet Floyd fought Brussesl, Ndou, Sosa (who Spaddy beat) and Mitchell..

"If it dont make $$$$ then it dont make sense"..

sounds like a duck walks lke a duck its a duck..

No one said that Marg was great just that he earned his shot and "mONEY" decided to fight other people for LESS money. The Mitchell fight and the Judah fight.
