this is what I meant about Ricky Hatton and Miguel Cotto, why Miguel wont be the same reckless opponent Floyd faced, why his aggression is BETTER than Ricky's, because Ricky didn't care about ring positioning, he wasn't thinking about ring generalship he just flung himself at Floyd to a point where Floyd just had to move out of the way and he would knock himself out, even without the check hook he was going to run into that turnbuckle because he just threw himself to a point where he couldn't stop himself, he couldn't pull back anymore because he was too reckless he didn't stay calm and use Boxing skills because truth be told Ricky doesn't have too much of that, he doesn't possess too many SKILLS and Cotto does.. I know this is a side issue to a whole different thread about a whole different subject but I had to use that Gif. image to make my example, Ricky was too aggressive and with wild aggression he was able to phase Floyd so imagine with controlled aggression?

Mayweather's use of elbows wasn't fouling. He put them out there to protect himself from Hatton coming in. He wasn't hitting Hatton with them. Ricky's was a fool for not adopting the same tactic. Hitting Mayweather the way he did though was a foul, but for sure should of received a warning. Cortez does appear biased though using the word Brits *******ly. Anyone who thought Hatton could come over and wrestle in Vegas were fooling themselves. It wouldn't have helped him anyways...He was by far outclassed and dominated.

You are not allowed to rake your opponent in the face with elbows...although floyd did prove that when he goes into his shell his arms cover his whole torso and head and he is unhittable, you'd have to punch through the gloves pretty much. Probably not a KO ending to that fight if Cortez enforces the elbow rule against mayweather.

The swing over the top rope to the back of the head was the most flagrant, clear foul of the bout, and Cortez warned them in the locker room that he was having none of that ****. The point deduction was completely justified. If he took a point for every single elbow, forearm, shoulder, hold or any of the 100 other inside fouls, both fighters would've been DQ'd by round 4.

all good points by Cortez. Hatton holds and hits. When he doesn't he gets whooped. Just like Ruiz. When he wasn't allowed to hold Jones, he got dominated. Mayweather-Hatton is no different than Jones-Ruiz. When rules are enforced, the cheaters don't stand a chance

Ricky lost because he was outworked on the inside and pummled on the outside.

And what elbow rule is that , you cant use the elbows as a weapon he didnt , Floyd used them to keep Hattons head out of his face , best you look at the rules , and what raking you on about, Rickys laces down his face , or Rickys back of the head shots 1 he got a point for . or the 4 or 5 he was warned for , dont worry Hatton played plenty of fouls , he was over powered and beaten at his own game , suck it up !

And what does that have to do with the referee's performance?
