Delahoya has never taken this fight serious, you are reading an article from philboxing even posters there have come here saying they are bull****.

And who has not fought smaller fighters? Delahoya gets a bad rap(i don't know from where) because he is still on top of his game all while in 100 years old.

JMM beat Pac, in your biased scorecard.

Fact: The 1 judge admitted he made a mistake on his score in the 1st round. If it was corrected, the win will go to Pac.

Ive seen that fight numerous times, because of how wide the scores turned out for that fight.

Im completely positive about who won which rounds, all except for one round...I think it was the tenth, maybe ninth. but I had Marquez winning the fight, and many others had him winning as well. regardless of how I scored that difficult round and adding in the knockdown points, Marquez deserved the decision in my mind.

and that 'past their prime' talk came from somewhere. Morales and Barerra both had already had long, tough careers by the time these recent fights came around against Pacquiao. There is no doubt they were at the end of their careers.
But about the 1st Barerra fight? nah, that will always stand as Pacquiao's greatest victory, even if Barerra wasnt actually 'at his best', it was an amazing win. a huge one, really.

Im asking because I see a lot of people criticizing Pacquiao for fighting elite but shot fighters, yet they are the same people pushing him to fight Marquez.
It defends on the outcome of his rematch with pac.

        IF PAC = WIN THEN
JMM = An elite but SHOT Fighter
        ELSEIF JMMvsPAC = DRAW THEN
JMM = Still a GREAT Fighter
        ELSEIF JMM = WIN
        JMM = A GREAT Fighter Mexico's messiah
        END IF

Admit it or not that's how its going to be in this forums

          I'll say it again...

Sometimes being shot creeps up on you.

I saw Marco Antonio Barrera put forth a great performance against Juan Manuel Marquez last March.

His very next bout, against a Pacquiao who really did look less than his usual self, he looked atrocious.

I didn't see any indicators in the Marquez bout that would make me think that Pacquiao was going to run Barrera over, but he did.

Well since everyone is on the little guys growing old overnight thing..........I suppose it's a possibility for just about anyone to cruise past their primes in the span of two or three fights.

But it doesn't seem logical to try and predict that yet, LMFAO.

There needs to be a tell tale indicator.

What happens if he gets in the ring and his balance is no better than Jose Luis Castillo's?

Even if there was no previous indicator, if it is that evident, then I think it is okay to call him shot.

                Right yeah.

But JLC struggled with a little known prospect albeit good fighter prior to appearing washed up against Hatton. In the Ngoudjo fight, he showed that he didn't have the same fighting spirit he once did.

Now if JMM showed up old against Pac, lol that would be a shock. Especially once again taking into account his recent performance(s) against Juarez and Barrera.

                  Yeah... well **** Castillo.

Barrera looked great (I think it is pretty much universally agreed upon that he did) against Marquez, but showed up old against Pacquiao, without much warning, other than the fact that after every even numbered bout in Barrera's career, the general public decided that he was shot.

naw Pacquiaos distruction of the highly touted LEDWABA was his best.

Pacman showed he is something special, he only had 2 weeks with roach and he was a last minute replacement and an easy supposed journey men for ledwaba to demolish...then you could hear the words of merchant and lampley almost like a predicition of things to come..."I never heard of him(pacquiao), I have never seen him but I wanna see him again"

No, JMM is not a shot fighter and hasn't even come close to showing that he is a shot fighter. His skills are probably diminishing a bit, but that is only because he is getting older and is probably a bit past his prime now. A shot fighter would be Jose Luis Castillo or Meldrick Taylor
