I think the general consensus now is that Marquez is not shot but past his prime. Good.

Well it is obviously going to change if Pacquiao wins... you know that.

Just like Ricky Hatton became the worst fighter south of 160 when he lost to Mayweather.

Just like Bernard Hopkins turned 115 when he lost to Taylor.

Just like Jeff Lacy turned into the worst boxer in the history of the sport after Calzaghe beat him.

It's just the way people evaluate the sport, and it's obviously not justified and it sucks a whole lot of ****, but that's the way it is going to be.

Yeah, but people will always do their slick **** about... well, he wasn't shot, but ****, he was past his prime, and I didn't say how far past his prime... I mean, ****, he was as close to shot as he possibly could be!

And to be honest, there are a few surprises when it comes to shot fighters.

I honestly thought Barrera had a whole lot more left than he showed in the rematch, but I thought he looked great against Marquez. But then when fight night came, he looked like ****, and it wasn't because of Pacquiao, because he looked like **** that night too.

For example... who could have predicted that Joel Casamayor would look so bad against Jose Santa Cruz off of his previous bout with Diego Corrales? He looked stellar against Corrales, but looked dreadful against Santa Cruz.

That being said, people are always going to use that excuse, so the best you can take away from this is that you know the truth, even if the ******s don't.

nah he ain't a shot fighter it's just YOU a shot member, how else can you think something so ******, thats not to attack you neither yo I know our little situation and that ****** line got nothing to do with that but come on Ace you really asking this? the reason WHY people want Manny to face Marquez in the 1st place IS because he isn't shot and can hand his ass to him, not saying thats going to happen but I see it like this he's younger than both Erik and Marco and he's a better version of them both when Manny faced them, he got the power and the skills, factor that in with his great chin and you have a problem on your hands.. Manny is NO joke as we all know, in fact he should be the favorite coming in the fight but something tells me it's going to be a shocker, whoever wins or losses I smell a trilogy coming..

Marquez has lost more than Pacquiao, but Pacquiao has lost a step also. Neither guy is shot like Jose Luis Castillo, but this is a fight where both guys know their opponents and it doesn't matter how they perform against other fighters.
