X******t, did you read the whole topic. A member here described that JMM beat an elite fighter 10 years younger than him in the name of Rocky Juarez. MAB is not 10 years younger than JMM.

JMM beat Pac, in your biased scorecard.

Fact: The 1 judge admitted he made a mistake on his score in the 1st round. If it was corrected, the win will go to Pac.

          There are no excuses.

Morales and Barrera clearly showed they weren't the same fighters anymore. You know how? Morales got his ass totally beat by Zahir Raheem and lost in what should have been his victory to David Diaz...............at 125 or 130 in his prime he would have whipped both of their asses.

Also Barrera struggled with Rocky Juarez who is not on his level as a fighter. JMM just came off the impressive ass whipping of Juarez where that acted as a sort of litmus test.

I mean he almost stopped Juarez, LMFAO. When was the last time Barrera or Morales fought that good of a fight? Years ago?
Yes, I think you share the same sentiment as to like 90% here that JMM is past his prime but not shot.

Its really just annoying to see all these people complain that Pacquiao only fights "past-prime" elites yet they really pushing for this. I expect excuses to abound like these after Pacquiao wins.

Perhaps the problem is that Pacquiao cant make like 10 fights in a year to accomodate all those whom he deserves to fight. Theyre lining up DDiaz and God forbid Dela Hoya, that by the time he gets to Valero, Guzman and Juan Diaz they'll be past their prime as well

I just read another story on this in PhilBoxing, a GBP rep that this fight is possible. I hope this will not happen. Dela Hoya is too big for Pac. Dela Hoya has nothing to gain from this fight.

Oscar De La Hoya vs Manny Pacquiao this Year or Early Next Year - Boxing

By Johnny Benz (Feb 13, 2008) Do*ghouse Boxing

A fight between Oscar De La Hoya and Manny Pacquiao seems more and more likely to happen. Richard Schaefer, the CEO of De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions, says the rumours for the match-up aren't ridiculous. Schaefer a fight between the pair is a definite possibility, and could end up as De La Hoya's farewell bout. De La Hoya's last fight will happen late this year or in the early part of 2009.

Quoted by SportingLife, Schaefer stated in regards to Pacquiao and De La Hoya fighting one another: "I do see a
chance for that. The person who actually came up with the idea is Larry Merchant (HBO commentator), who I consider to be one of the foremost boxing experts today. There is history of smaller fighters moving up and fighting bigger guys. Roy Jones Jr moved up 40lbs or so to fight in the heavyweight division.

Schaefer went on to add: "So there definitely is a precedent to that and a possibility that something like that could happen."

Pacquiao is deep in training for a rematch with Juan Manuel Marquez at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. The rematch will take place on March 15.

In regards to Pacquiao's upcoming challenge against Marquez, Schaefer stated: "It's almost sold out, very few tickets remaining. We anticipate it will sell out before fight week. There's a tremendous amount of interest. Mexicans see that Marquez is their last legend standing after Pacquiao dismantled Erik Morales and Marco Antonio Barrera."

Im asking because I see a lot of people criticizing Pacquiao for fighting elite but shot fighters, yet they are the same people pushing him to fight Marquez.
It's a valid question. I'm wondering myself if Marquez still has the kind of speed and reflexes that will be required for victory.

I would never doubt Oscar's willingness to fight a smaller man. Ever.

Since this seem to be turning into a Pac should fight X intead of Y.

I would like to remind everyone, that Pacman (like Maywaether, Cotto, Oscar, Hopkins, like EVERY ****ing boxer) makes his living by fighting and hence chooses the most lucrative fights (Barrera and Morales were clearly the most lucrative fights around 126-130), not the ones the hardcore fans want to see. This does not make him a *****, a ***** or anything like that. In fact when you see someone calling a fighter those names, just remember that he is probably the type of person who would quit boxing after 2 months of training for the amateurs.

Do I think Guzman is the biggest threat for Pacman? YES
Do I think I would fight Guzman if I was in him? NO, I would want to make the most money.

Yeah but Honestly..........JMM looks really strong at 130.

I mean like I say, it's hard to say he's past his prime when he just put on that show against Juarez. I think if anything he's dead in his prime.

That's why I see this fight as once again, being no excuses.
