Where were all these "die hard" Hatton fans before he beat Kostya? Quite as church mice. Then after that fight it seemed that the Hatton mob grew exponentially. So he won a "strap" and now everybody is on his tip. Well say what you will about Mayweather, but Hatton hasn't exactly fought the best of the best after his breakthrough win either. ****, he almost got his lunch ate up by Collazo. But the bull**** stops on Dec 8th. No more calling Mayweather a coward. And no more saying Hatton hasn't fought the best. This fight is killing two birds with one stone. Which is great.
Floyd Mayweather..

Even though this has nothing to do with this thread I will at least answer your question of Hatton's fans before Kostya.Where were all these "die hard" Hatton fans before he beat Kostya? HE HAD THOUSANDS even back then.
The fight with Kostya just increased those numbers.
Hatton was selling out the MEN arena before Kostya.
Also I have not said Hatton has had the best opposition either but he doesn't try pulling the wool over peoples eyes like Floyd by claiming to be the greatest of all time.
And you like everyone else before you...... have still NOT ANSWERED MY ORIGINAL QUESTION.
I think this is going to stay unanswered because even the nuthuggers MUST be sane enough to realise the bitter truth.Comment

And what "bitter" truth would that be? That Mayweather can be beaten? Sure he can. I've never claimed Mayweather to be the greatest ever either, so don't even start with that bull****. Can Mayweather be defeated? Sure. I don't see Hatton being the one to do it though. Are you bitter that everybody dosen't agree with your perception of Maywether, or how the fight is going to turn out? Or you in fact, are NUTHUGGER yourself? Have answered your dumbass question now?Even though this has nothing to do with this thread I will at least answer your question of Hatton's fans before Kostya.

No, Moofo. You can't look at it this way.1) You miss the point like so many others as this is NOT about ANY other fighter BUT FLOYD.
BECAUSE no other fighter proclaims to be the greatest without having beaten the BEST COMPETITION.
2) When I am called a Dumb Limey etc what else can you call that?
And as yet my INITIAL QUESTION IS STILL UNANSWERED.
All people do is ask questions about other fighters....
WELL THIS IS ABOUT ONE....NAMED FLOYD.
GET IT?
In the NFL, for example, we have a playoff system where everybody plays everybody else so at the end of the day, the "last man standing" can indisputably say that they were the best team.
By contrast, all of the boxers don't fight each other. So it becomes necessary to analyze fighters on a COMPARATIVE basis. Who fought who that beat whom and how did he beat him and when. Yadda yadda.
In that regard, that is the "figure skating" aspect of our sport. Guys get "style points" for performances. Cotto beats Shane and moves UP the p4p list. Even though SSM was not on the p4p list. Mayweather beats Gatti brutally and eveyone jumps on his jock. He goes 12 with Baldomir and the bloom is suddenly off the rose. Hatton gets mega-points for Tszyu, and then is questioned for an iffy win over Collazo. The sport is half brutal combat and half beauty pageant.
So, because we have to COMPARE fighters, we are forced to also COMPARE levels of competition. It is fine to say that Mayweather sucks or is overrated. That is fine. But you must apply the algorithm that got you to that result equally. There must be consistency and unilateral application of your criteria.
If you say FMJ isn't great because Oscar was 34 and inactive, then you must also say that Hatton isn't great because Kostya Tszyu was 36 and equally inactive and injury-prone.
We are not comparing fighters to some pre-determined, objective scale. We are comparing fighters to one another.
I know you think I am a complete idiot. That's fine. But this is my perspective.Comment

THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ANY OTHER FIGHTER THAN FLOYD.
As for Hatton being Great...I've never stated that nor has he.
I regard him as a good fighter who has potential to be considered great IF he beats Floyd and perhaps a couple more out there.
All I want to know is WHO has FLoyd BEATEN of WORLD CLASS who was Undisputed Best in the 140 , 147 & 154 divisions to tally with his and his fans declaration that he is the Greatest.
No need to consider any other fighter just answer this based on Floyd.Comment

NO you STILL have NOT answered the Question of WHO HE HAS BEATEN IN THEIR PRIME AND CONSIDERED THE BEST IN THE 140 ,147 or 154 Divisions. And what "bitter" truth would that be? You may not have declared Floyd the Greatest BUT HE HAS.
So forget YOUR opinion as it is not yours that is in question with regards to his claim as the greatest.
The bitter truth is staring you in the face that my question remains UNANSWERED.

I had no clue who Hatton was before he fought Tszyu, since then he's fought 3 current world champs and one future hall of famer, with not a Golden Johnson in the bunch. Now he's fighting by most accounts the greatest fighter in the world, and still tons of Hatton haters. Questions about Mayweather's cowardice won't be silenced until he fights a good, legitimate, welterweight, like Cotto or Williams, especially since he opened his mouth about unifying the division and hasn't done a damn thing this year towards it.Where were all these "die hard" Hatton fans before he beat Kostya? Uhhh first of all he was planning to do that NEXT YEAR. Second of all I don't think anyone can blame him for fighting DLH and Hatton.I had no clue who Hatton was before he fought Tszyu, since then he's fought 3 current world champs and one future hall of famer, with not a Golden Johnson in the bunch. Good point. I would agree with you that Mayweather hasn't fought the very best from 140 on up. The truth ain't bitter at all to me. Mayweather is just another boxer that I like to follow. No more, no less. To some on here, it's like their lifes work to hate on the man though. Which is pretty goddamn pathetic if you ask me. DO YOU GET THAT?NO you STILL have NOT answered the Question of WHO HE HAS BEATEN IN THEIR PRIME AND CONSIDERED THE BEST IN THE 140 ,147 or 154 Divisions.
