I respectfully disagree with your opinion. People like to dog Floyd's accomplishments on here all the time and everyone is entitled to their opinion however lets take a look at Hatton's career. Most people stated that Floyd had most of his good fights at 130 or 135lbs. He Dominated some very good fighters or he stopped them. Most of Ricky's fights have been at 140lbs...who has Ricky Hatton ever beat that was Good or even close to their prime. I respect Ricky's fight game because he is tuff and relentless. Anything can happen in any fight...but if both fighters come in 100% prepared mentally, emotionally and physically I don't see how Hatton can win. He is to slow, arms are too short and he has issues with boxers. Everyone keeps stating that he has the style to beat PBF...well we all know that PBF has the style to beat Ricky. In my opinion most people don't really care if Hatton wins...they just want PBF to loose. You broke down Floyd's career and discredited a lot of opponents that he beat recently. All kidding aside...name me one top fighter that fights at the weight that he walks around in? I will answer that question...none. Shoot when Guzman fought Soto (130lbs), fight night Guzman weighted more than PBF. I know that Floyd is not the most fan friendly fighter...but u have to respect his fight game and skill level. Most fighters that walk around at PBF weight fight at 130lbs or 135lb. You made a comment that Hatton has to come out of his weight class...he will always do that because he walks around at 180lbs. Hatton is a good fighter but he is not good enough. The only fighter that I think could upset PBF is Paul Williams...to tall and too much activity!
Floyd Mayweather..

You ARE a Mayweather hater. If you think Zab lost that fight because he "lost focus" you are a hater, PERIOD. Zab was being worked to the body, WORKED. He gas because of the constant pressure and body work being done on him for those first 5-6 rounds. Floyd IS human and anyone can be beat, if you thin Hatton is the one to do it so be it. That remains to be seen.Comment

I mean!!!!! I think this must be a joke what is being said especially about Zab! I like both Zab and Floyd, but Floyd handled Zab like a real champion and certainly like a gentleman. Floyd was so graceful and dignified in the fight, considering. You ARE a Mayweather hater. If you think Zab lost that fight because he "lost focus" you are a hater, PERIOD. all true! This is a trend that i have watched develop in the fanbase of a couple business boxers fan bases.Eats , ****s , Breathes therefore he is Human.
Human and not Super-human or indestructible.
Yes he has great Boxing ability.
BUT he isn't undefeatable.
So far he has carefully chosen his path from the 140 division upwards and until December the 8th will not have fought a renowned undisputed , Undefeated Champion in their prime.
So far his list of opponents with belts on his adventures up the Weights have been well past their best or clearly NOT the BEST in each respective division.
At 140 he never fought Kostya and then Hatton(When he took the crown) who were the REAL champions at that weight limit.
At Welterweight he was lucky enough to have a very Shaky fighter called Zab Judah who firstly gave his titles away to a Journeyman and has since been beaten much more convincingly by Miguel Cotto.
Floyd beat the tired Gatti at 140 who has since lost to another unremarkable fighter in Alfonso Gomez from a reality TV programme who would , without that show , never have been heard of.
Baldomir suddenly was Champ and also won against a shot Gatti.
Any other Welterweight Champ in History would have dealt with Baldomir easily , hell there are Fighters in the division who would have beaten him easily enough, he was just fortunate Zab held the belts.
The right place at the right time.
Then we have the fight with Oscar at 154 for the WBC belt.
Oscar was another man who started his career at the lower weights.
And that was where he himself was most successfull.
Fortunately for Floyd Oscar was and is at the tail end of his career and at the age of 34 was a shadow of his former self which was proved when he was gassed after 6 rounds.
Perhaps Oscars inactivity was a factor as well bearing in mind he had fought only 3 times in the previous 3 years?
Would Floyd have been so succesful against a man like Winky Wright who was much more a natural light middleweight?
Yes Floyd has done well on his rise through the weights , but as yet , WHO has he fought that has tested him?
WHO has he fought that was the BEST in the division at the TOP of their game?
Saying this , Zab gave him plenty for 6 rounds before losing focus.
Some people dispute the decision over a tired Old Oscar.
Please don't give me the nonsense of him lacking in stature as the only man he met at 154 was himself a former Super-Featherweight champ.
In my opinion those who write off Hatton's chances with contempt must be pretty ignorant of these facts.
I am not a Mayweather Hater , in fact I certainly believe he his very gifted.
But I cannot stomach the nonsense I hear that he is the greatest of all time and he is a genuine accomplished champ at 140 , 147 & 154.
There are many unanswered questions with Floyd.....
The First of which will be answered on December the 8th.
Although he is already making his opponent fight him outside his natural weight category.
I await the hate.
It seems that all a guy has to do these days is gain a strap( that is easier than ever before in the history of the sport) and a certain percentage of fans will begin to worship the bastard.
Mayweather was an extremely talented 130lb champion, but since leaving that division he has become ever increasingly tipping the risk/reward scale.
The man hasn't fought a live champion in how many years now? It's sad that so called Boxing fans would let themselves be defrauded like this and actually worship a guy that has openly stated his intentions.Last edited by Easton Assassin; 11-25-2007, 10:27 AM.Comment

You know you are a hater when you make the statement "Hatton is fighting out of his natural weightclass" than fail to mention Floyd not being a natural welter in his own right or the Oscar fight being WELL over his natural weight class. Hate breeds contempt and contempt breeds idiocy.Comment

Corrected, son.At Welterweight he was lucky enough to have a mediocre fighter called Zab Judah who lost track in a fight and lost his title to a Journeyman and has since been toatally robbed in a fight Miguel Cotto.
Then we have the fight with Oscar at 154 for the WBC belt.
Oscar was another man who started his career at the lower weights.
And that was where he himself was most successfull. His success fell off a little, and i am making to much propeganda out of this because i hate Floyd Mayweather.
Saying this , Zab learned from Miguel Cotto and tried to rob Floyd with a low blow
Some people who have nothing better to to then find somthing wrong with Mayweather dispute the decision over a tired Old Oscar.
In my opinion those who write off Hatton's chances of winning are not on drugs like i am
I am a Mayweather Hater , I have to hate on him because he is the best boxer right now and that's what little bitches like me do.Comment

Please tell me WHO Floyd has beaten who was an undisputed renowned World Champ at 140 , 147 or 154.
And remember this is NOT about Ricky Hatton.
Although Hatton respectively doesn't claim to be the best ever or even the best ever light-welter.
And please tell me at what point I have Hated on Floyd.
I have already stated many times he is a very gifted boxer and athlete.
All I am questioning is his Quality and choice of opposition.
Yet all of you just take the easy way out and try to discredit me as a "Hater" , "Dumb Green Teef" , "Dumb Limey".
Yet offer no real argument against the facts I have written.
And as yet have failed to answer the burning Question.
"WHO HAS FLOYD FOUGHT IN THEIR PRIME AT THE TOP OF THEIR GAME SINCE FIGHTING AT 140 ,147 or154 who was also the BEST in EACH DIVISION?"
ANSWER THIS PLEASE!
P.s there is no need to use the old "Who has Hatton fought" retort as I will answer this for you now.
Hatton himself will be facing the Best fighter he has faced in his prime when he meets Floyd.Comment

1) The statement above in red: can't the EXACT same things be said about Kostya Tszyu? Only Kostya was older and had more injuries than Oscar?Eats , ****s , Breathes therefore he is Human.

2) Why do you perceive any dissenting opinion as "hate"?Comment

1) You miss the point like so many others as this is NOT about ANY other fighter BUT FLOYD.
BECAUSE no other fighter proclaims to be the greatest without having beaten the BEST COMPETITION.
2) When I am called a Dumb Limey etc what else can you call that?
And as yet my INITIAL QUESTION IS STILL UNANSWERED.
All people do is ask questions about other fighters....
WELL THIS IS ABOUT ONE....NAMED FLOYD.
