i'm glad to see you mention this but with all the hate of his ****y attitude, the pbf haters tend to bleed their hatred over into his legacy claiming he ducked this fighter and he ducked that fighter and he is a runner and yada yada yada. they seem to forget what boxing really is, and that it's not a one dimensional sport, and this is why the fans defend him like they do imo. saying he's ****y is one thing, but discredting how he fights and his legacy when i'm sure more than half of these morons haven't watched many of his fights is just plain retarted. with floyd disrespecting his opponents, it's his way of staying ahead of everybody else. think about it, i'm not saying he has to talk the way he does, but he's made no secrets about wanting to be better than every fighter in history, and his dominance in the professional sport of boxing breathes the way it does with his trash talking and claiming so and so is one dimensional and a c class fighter. it's what works for him, and he's not the only fighter whose talked trash, because roy jones talked ****, james toney talked ****, and they're regarded as heros to many people on here, because of their styles and skills that make their styles up, but pretty boy, who is more polished than both of them, and overall, a better fighter than them both imo is regarded as a ****y piece of ****? what the **** is that ****? i mean, there's nothing wrong with being respectful to your opponents, but it's competiton, floyd talks ****, yet, he trains like a madman, so he takes no opponent lightly at all, and he always gives them respect after the fight. they have to earn his respect witrh their fight game by fighting a tough fight against him. that's just how he is, and he's smart for being this way. not only is he making his name bigger, whether it's positive or negative, but he's putting pressure on himself to perform at a higher level seeing how people expect him to back his words up, or seeing how people want him to lose and get knocked the hell out. it makes him that more dangerous and work that much harder. it's a smart tactic for his legacy in the sport that bred him.
he also gets into his opponent's head by doing this. he can win the fight at the press conference by intimidating his opponent or throwing them off of their game. yet, his opponent's outside issues are rarely showcased like floyd's are. his personal issues with his children's mothers are made known and his club issues, and when oscar is looked at like a ****ing king and all american good guy, when oscar is dressing up like a woman or cheating on his wife with women in america it makes me mad. this gets me ticked off, but with all of this on the table, it only makes floyd perform better in the face of this adversity and no matter who's booing the **** out of him or cheering for him, which many don't cheer for him, but oh well, he still performs like a true champion in that ring. he still domiantes opponents who are in their hometown or very popular because of their looks like de la hoya. it doesn't matter, floyd is smart enough to know that popularity doesn't win fights, unless the judges are corrupt of course, but usually popularity don't win you fights. floyd is fighting his haters, critics, and more when he's in that win, and he's also proving to himself that he can be the best at doing this, which is certainly is, so this is why he is not only the top welterweight in boxing, but th ebest fighter in any weight class in boxing, so deal with it people.
