I voted Hatton because I think that

    Zoo+Castillo > Mosley+Judah

Basically Mosley did not win a "real" belt since the 2nd Oscar fight 4 years ago (and that was controversial).

Zoo is the only lineal champ in his reign on both resumes and was p4p rated *high* when they fought. That is basically what does it for me.

This is going to change soon, because Hatton has fewer good names to fight at 140 than cotto does at 147.

    ciao

na cotto opponents has been better than hattons 3 of the top five list were undefeated with 2 of them being now world champion ..zab judah came with his A game on the cotto fight cuz he wanted to reach HIS FORMER UNDISPUTED WELTERWEIGHT STATUS and obviosly shane mosley the man fought the best and is a leyend and alot of ppl doubt cotto to win the fight.

however if hatton beats maywheather then hattons record would look better than cotto's.

        Cotto.

Quintana - Good boxer/puncher was undefeated at the time he faced Cotto.

Paulie - great boxer, now holds title, and was also undefeated.

Zab - would **** Hatton imo.

Mosley - better than anyone Hatton has faced.

Torres - holds title and was undefeated when faced Cotto.

Abdulaev - was undefeated, gold medal winner in Sidney.

Hatton fought not so great comp until an past his prime, coming from surgery/layoff Tszyu and then a shot JLC.

Miguel Cotto. Take away both of their biggest wins, and it's not that close. Hatton had that Tszyu win to fall back on, and that's not the case anymore with Cotto beating Mosley.

I dont rate the Judah win that high (it was just a good win, not great), but beating a Castillo who moved up in weight, and struggled in his supposed tune-up the fight before isnt a great win either. Randall Bailey fought Ngoudjo on ESPN 2 this summer, did more to win that Castillo did and lost.

A few of Cotto's wins may or may not look better depending on his opponent's future success. As it stands now, Malignaggi and Torres both have title straps at 140, and Quintana is in line to fight Berto. I personally think Malignaggi can make some noise at 140. Torres not so much, although he did beat a solid fighter in Holt.

Castillo was shot, so was Judah (to a lesser extent, but look at how they won).

Mosley and Zoo both old, with a major difference. Zoo was p4p-rated, lineal champ, unbeaten in 10+ years, came right off the destruction of Mitchell and no-one outside of UK was picking Hatton to win.

              Compare with Cotto-Mosley.

Nah, Hatton would make Judah do the chicken dance like he did at the end of the second round against Tszyu.

Cotto, but I think the voting is dead on. The answer is Miguel Cotto, but not by a ton. Both have very good resumes. Had you asked this before the Mosley fight, the answer would have been Hatton.

this has been done a million times over. with the addition of mosley to his ledger, cotto by a good margin.

although, obviously if hatton manages to win against mayweather then its him.

Well, Mayweatherites have been counting Hatton on their resume in arguments, so I think Floyd tips the scales in favour of Hatton.
