I agree in almost everything that you said. I think that Mayweather has the potential to beat everybody and especially Hatton in this fight. But my humble opinion is that Cotto among all the boxers available has the best shot to beat Mayweather. Hatton is strong. He has great power, puts alot of preaure throug the the hole fight. He is more strong than Mayweather but he also is too robotic in his boxing skills. He always is in front of you putting preasure but he doesnt have great defensive skills. He doesnt cut the ring very well and if we are talking of Mayweather that is a most. I dont see a way that he can beat Mayweather besides i good punch that he is capable of thrown or getting him to the ropes and inflict the more damege that he can do. But this fight will determine if Floyd has the capabilities to handle a guy like Cotto. A great performance of Floyd will boost his confidence. But remember Cotto have all this skills that can put Mayweather in trouble. He has great power with his two hands, great body punching skills. He cut the ring very well, respectfull velocity in his hands, a great jab you see it in the Mosley fight, great pshysical condition and relentlees preasure throug the fight makes Cotto a guy that has a real shot to beat Mayweather.Comment

I don't think he'll be them EASY, but he will beat them both. I also disagree with Hatton being robotic, Hatton's pretty crafty and prevents you from punching him back while he holds and strikes you with his best shots, he also circles instead of moving backwards and punches you from different angles while doing so. Mayweather does move backwards a lot, that's why he does the least well agaisnt pressure fighters.
Cotto could beat Hatton brawling, not boxing him, I think his power would just be too intimidating for Hatton. I think he'll beat Mayweather the same way he beat Malinaggi and Judah (minus the low blows), take the shots, keep coming forward and **** away to the bodyComment

if he fights hatton after hatton has defeated probs the best boxer in the world then how can he say that cotto will be too good of a boxer for hatton. That is ******ed stuff.Comment

The only reasons I pick Cotto over Hatton is that I HAPPEN to think style-wise.. Cotto is a bit more vesatile, and also has taken to 147 a bit better. More natural at the weight. (Hatton could surprise me in Decemember, that remains to be seen) I think it'd be a good fight and I see it close. But I see it as Cotto winning.Comment

It's a styles thing, I think is what Willy D. was talking about He could mix in his brawling more than Mayweather does, and box the rest of the way.
He'd be out-boxing him, not out-brawling him, but in a different way.
However, I STILL disagree with him.
NOTE: It's strange so many people don't agree that all, and then you read this thread..
Either people not able to back up the claim, or just bored as hell but love voting on things. lol.Last edited by THe TRiNiTY; 11-20-2007, 06:55 PM.Comment

IMO Cotto would whip the **** out of Floyd. Let's put it this way: if Floyd gets by Hatton and then defeats Cotto.....I'll have found a new respect for Floyd. Unfortunately, it's fairly clear that Floyd won't fight Cotto even if he manages to get by Hatton. He blames it on Arum, but IMO it's just more of the same bull****.Comment
