    ..Cotto-Mayweather/Hatton: William Dettloff's Take...

"In a little over three weeks, Floyd Mayweather, the world welterweight champion, will meet Ricky Hatton. A boxer against a puncher. If there is any justice, Cotto will get the winner. I say he beats either one of them and without much difficulty. Too good a puncher for Mayweather, too good a boxer for Hatton." - William Dettloff

Anyone agree? I'll comment in a bit, I want some other comments first. There's also the poll.

You don't technically have to agree with the bold part, considering how BOLD of a statement that is.

I don't see him beating Hatton by outboxing him. I see him ****ing away and winning that way. I also don't see him beating either with ease. Not sure about Mayweather. Tough one. We'll essentially get to see what he could do with a guy SIMILAR to Cotto, with Hatton. After the fight.. I'll have more of an understanding.

I don't see how Cotto is going to out box Hatton..
His boxing prowess was very good against Mosley but Hatton is not going to fight in that manner, so it doesn't really apply.

Hatton will be close in, rough housing all the way. The cute boxing skills we saw for Cotto ( pleasent surprise ) wouldn't be worth much, he'd get dragged into a war without a doubt.

But that could be a problem for Hatton...It may be harder for Hatton to beat Cotto than PBF...for totally different reasons..

I really couldn't chose between any of the three.....
One punch could change the whole game in favour of Cotto and Hatton....whilst Floyd might just keep on doing what he always does.....winning..

Only Cotto's punch resiliance would make me back Hatton over Cotto, but I wouldn't argue too much over it..

I pick Hatton to beat Cotto in a tough as hell fight. Wouldn't bet money on it because anything could happen in that fight. Whew! What a barnburner that would be.

cotto is too big for hatton to fight hatton's kinda fight.
one thing i noticed about the oscar vs floyd fight was the oscar was effective with his jab,i think we've established the cotto has a very good jab.

I completly agree with you.We have to wait to see the Hatton Mayweather fight to make a responsible analysis. But in my opinion Cotto have a best shot to take away Mayweather undefeated record. But remember mayweather have his hands full with Hatton. If he can control the preaure of Hatton and can out boxing him with a reletive ease. We can say that the possibilities of Cotto are going to be less.

Cotto beats em both i agree.
Im leaning towards Hatton beating Floyd but wouldnt be shocked if Floyd just boxed him silly!

Cotto may or may not be able to beat both Hatton and Mayweather but he certainly wouldn't do it easily.
