I wouldnt include Hatton for the simple reason that Hatton is a JWW. Hatton said that he is coming into the fight at no more than 143-144.

And Mosley is a lightweight.

That's a bull**** reason to exclude Hatton.

At this present moment, Cotto is winning the battle of better competition, but that is most likely only because he just fought, and Floyd still has a month before he fights.

floyd fought a zab judah with nothing to lose and who gave him competition in the first 4 rounds of their fight. cotto fought a zab judah who seemed to have confidence but of and he did have cotto hurt but he was suspended for a year and only had 1 tuneup fight where it was declared a no contest.

floyd fought baldomir who isn't better than a shane mosley, but was still the wbc welterweight champion. cotto fought shane and shane still put up a great fight. cotto fought quitana who was the favorite to win because of his boxing skills but cotto dismissed that pretty good. floyd fought mitchell who was an underdog, but was still a southpaw who floyd has had problems with.

so, on paper, it does appear cotto has fought the better competiton if you add in urkal, he's fought more, but let's see why. did shane not turn down a fight with floyd at 147, and it was publicized. did oscar bot turn down a fight with floyd which may have still been at 154 but possibly at 147, and this was an oscar coming off an impressive victory over mayorga. floyd could have fought shane at 147 and oscar at 147 or 154 last year. they both turned him down. hell, cotto could have fought floyd at 140 or 147 but he opted not to and kept floyd's name out of his mouth didn't he? now, all of a sudden the haters on this forum are discrediting floyd's opponents even though carlos was the wbc champion and zab gave floyd competiton and is dangerous to any fighter at welterweight. i mean, hatton will get dominated but hatton's style could give problems to cotto as well as shane at this point in shane's career.

but, the thread was who fought better competion at 147 and cotto edges out floyd on paper imo but we cannot dismiss why he fought lesser competion by many people's standards seeing how oscar and shane ducked floyd and we cannot dismiss that floyd fought oscar at 154 even though floyd was 148 and oscar was 163 or so. so, technically floyd was a welterweight who beat a junior middleweight, and yes, floyd will fight cotto, trust me, and he will beat him.

could floyd have fought margarito, i'm sure he could have, but he was chasing a much bigger threat in oscar and shane who imo would both beat margarito even at this stage of both of their careers, seeing how clottey gave tony problems and nearly beat him and paul williams beat him and clottey was suppose to be dominated to many of you on here.

Good post, and I was thinking the same thing, Shane is better than anyone Floyd has faced and I am a big Oscar fan, but it is the truth.
