You really cant argue that it wasn't poor reffing. By the book, you are suppose to stop the fight to do that kind of stuff in a lull in the action, not when one fighter is going for the knockout.

Same with when a mouthpiece comes out. You wait for a lull in the action to replace it.

I dont believe it effected the outcome of the fight. I think that's a stretch, and people are being swayed by Lampley's yelling like Cotto was on the verge of being knocked out.
