Said Dan Goossen, "No matter who wins these fights, its time for the best to fight the best. As my good friend Bob Arum pointed out so well earlier this year, we need to stop the business fights."Floyd didn't pick and choose. He beat the best at 130 (his original division), then moved up to beat the best at 135 (Castille), then moved up to beat the best at 147 (Baldomir) and then moved up to beat the best at 154 (De La Hoya). It would be the equivalent of Calzaghe moving up and beating Bernard Hopkins at 175, then moving to Cruiserweight and beating the best there and then moving to heavyweight to beat Wladimir Klitscho. There is no comparison.
130 was legitimate. 135 was legitimate up through Castillo II. After that it's all business fights.Comment

Gee, with Mosley, Cotto, Williams and Margarito at 147, you're really going to try and tell me Baldomir was the best? And a De La Hoya with one fight in the last 3 years and with 2 losses out of his last 4 fights was NOT the best at 154. And 130 to 154 is only 24 pounds, light heavy to cruiserweight is 25 pounds by itself.Floyd didn't pick and choose. Where are the options for Juan Diaz and Kelly Pavlik? It's their month to be on top of the P4P rankings.Comment

What exactly do people want from a boxer puncher? Christ.
Someone quote this post and attach a link to the goddam Floyd Mayweather Jr. v.s. Oscar De La Hoya fight. Then I can simply give people a pointer:
Watch how many right hands Floyd throws and how accurate they were.
Then remember that was maybe the best Oscar we've seen in years against a much smaller man who was initially thought to be somehow show bait.
All of the die hard De La Hoya fans called knockout. I called an Oscar split decision, because I figured he'd out throw Floyd to the point where the judges were convinced he did enough to win. Instead he clinched tenaciously.........and threw half assed and half blocked punches in the clinch.
I constantly refer to that fight because it's one of the biggest victories of all time in my book. Floyd proved a great deal with his performance, to me.
I personally didn't think he could dominate Oscar like he did..............I scored the fight 116-112 and there's no way Oscar won more than 4 rounds.

You begin to remind me of this guy who used to post here, called Canada Joe/Steelehammer 86.I strongly believe that Joe Calzaghe is the true #1 p4p fighter in boxing ahead of Pacquiao and Mayweather. The Ring p4p rankings are a joke, they're biased towards Americans and predjudiced against European fighters. Calzaghe is (44-0 32 KO's) and he has been the Champ for over 10 years with 21 title defences. Joe wins his fights convincingly and he isn't afraid to take risks in the ring, he is a true warrior. Who do you think is the true #1 P4P fighter out of the big 3?
To be honest, your not the only idiot on this site, who compares a guy who spent 10 years in a divison which wasnt full of world class talent,
To a fighter who stayed unbeaten while jumping up 5 weight classes.
Hardly the same league is it?
You dont think mayweather could boil down to 130/135 and make about 20 defences too,
or does it take more boxing skill to fight guys 4 classes above and still beat them?
