Jones fought Hopkins in 1993, Calzaghe turned pro IN DAMN 1993 and didnt win a title until 1997 when JONES WAS AT 175 and TONEY WAS FIGHTING AT CRUISERWEIGHT.

I don't know guys. The first real talk about negotiations between Calzaghe and Roy Jones, Jr. seems to be in 2006. Maybe I'm wrong, and Dios might research this further, but here is the article:

Joe Calzaghe's promoter Frank Warren has confirmed he is in talks with Roy Jones Jr's camp with a view to making a fight in Cardiff on 8 July.
Former four-weight world champion Jones has already told BBC Sport he would be willing to take the fight.

This isnt about who was the overall better fighter, we are talking about fighters who were "over the hill" a fighters opponents and results after their fight proves how washed up they were or were not.

I dont even need to mention Tony Booth, but losing to Scott Pemberton twice is pretty damn sad.
Joppy's losses at least came agaisnt opponents like Trinidad, Taylor and Hopkins. (Minus Julio Ceaser Green, who he beat in their rematch)

Joppy was a good fighter who was a cut below championship quality, Sheika was nothing more than a brawler.

Sheika's style ruined him. The Pemberton losses were also wars. Joppy coasted the last five rounds of the Hopkins fight to collect the 50K bet or whatever it was Hopkins said he would pay if Joppy made it to the final bell. He danced, laughed and made a mockery of his title shot with Taylor. They should have banned him over that fight. He made no effort to win. Sheika, win or lose, always came to win. Sheika's losses are worse than those of Joppy but he also has better wins than those of Joppy.
