Right, I was saying he was coming off 2 losses to the only competent fighter he had fought in ages, and then got beat twice by Carl Thompson before retiring.
Theres no way any logical person could put the Eubank win on a pedestal.

Why did you just pull Tito out of your butt as a 168 contender?? I NEVER listed Tito as a candidate for 168. I listed legitimate MW through LHW guys that Slappy COULD have fought but DID NOT fight...

Stay in your lane, playa. Reading doesn't appear to be your strength.

Actually you be realistic and more fair and balanced on this subject before continuing. You're spining things man to support your arguement.

I can find you a million guys on Calzaghe's resume who were has been's or never were's at the time he fought them to support my arguement as well.

I JUST TOLD YOU, Jones was willing to go to the UK to face Calzaghe. YOU HAVE JUST STATED the fight would have made tons of money for the both of them then and it would have still made a significant amount of money now. Trinidad and Jones are making 8 digits each and they are both over the hill. I know you aren't telling me RJJ isn't a name that wouldn't garner some attention.

You cannot be serious with that post.
Sorry mate but you contradict yourself with this post. Calzaghe beating an ageing great in Eubank means nothing but Taylor beating an ageing great in Hopkins means he's a great fighter?

              Wow are you serious???
Its about what they did AFTER THE FIGHT that shows their quality.
Hopkins went to 175 and won Ring Magazine title by beating Antionio Tarver and then beating Winky Wright, while Eubank lost two fights to Carl ****ing Thompson.

Whatever Jones may have said, he was never willing to go to the UK. By the same token it appears Calzaghe was/will never go to the US. Its a stalemate.

Byron Mitchell was coming off of a loss when he fought Calzaghe and shouldn't even have gotten a title shot.

Charles Brewer lost to Anwon Echols (you know the guy hopkins has beaten twice) 2 fights ago when he fought Calzaghe.

Sheika??? Didn't he lose to the same bum Tony Booth that posts around here?

Woodhall, he lost to Beyer (a lesser champion then Calzaghe) before fighting Calzaghe.

Those 3 right there are definitely not better then Joppy or eastman at the time Hopkins fought them. Eastman only lost to Joppy when B-hop fought him and Joppy regained another belt before fighting Hopkins again.
What did you run to boxrec?

Eastman lost to Joppy and every middleweight with a pulse beat. So what if Brewer lost to Echols, if you actually WATCHED the fight you would have known it was a very controversial stoppage.

Sheikas has always been a tough fight for anyone, yeah he lost to Booth in 99, BUT YOU NEGLECT THAT HE THEN BEAT Simon Brown and won a clean decision over GLEN JOHNSON in an "ELIMINATOR" to land the Calzaghe fight.

I could have sworn that consensus has stated that Hopkins isn't the average 40 year old.

Sheika is not a good fighter by any means, BPP.
Eastman isnt anything to brag about, either.
