Gonzales, Judah, and Mitchell (at that time) were "elite." I don't know how you interpret that word, but in my book they were elite. Maybe you're going with this modern version of "elite"...ie...pay per view commodity. If so, then your interpretation is skewed, along with your opinions generally.
Was Miguel Angel Gonzalez an ELITE fighter?

You mentioned Hurtado the last time we argued about this. How convenient that you forgot. I'm sure you can go back and look that one up. As for Gonzales vs DLH, it was Oscar's belt that they fought for. Sorry, better luck next time.Yawn....no contradictions here. Hurtado? Did I mention Hurtado? You just mentioned Hurtado. You just cannot get over the assertion that Oscar moved out of the division with Tszyu nipping at his heels for a number of years. Yes, Oscar let himself be stripped and Tszyu was awarded the belt. Yes, Oscar fought an older Pernell who in his prime would have beaten Oscar. It was a good showing by Oscar, but it was not his best challenge. Tszyu would have been his best challenge. He didn't take it.
I know Gonzales won the WBC belt in 92 and held it for a number of years and was fighting with that belt at stake in 1997 when he lost to Oscar. 92-97, is the reign, I believe. I know he didn't lose in that 5 year period, so you do the math.
You seem to love using W's as a measuring stick (no matter who the opponent is), so here it goes: Whitaker hadn't lost since '88 when he fought DLH in '97 and was considered one of the best pound for pound fighters in the world.
Also, to further avoid damaging your reputation, please stop refering to 23 year old Zab Judah as ELITE. And Mitchell.Comment

Zab Judah was "elite" ? He was 24 years old and talented but had not beaten anyone of note.Gonzales, Judah, and Mitchell (at that time) were "elite." What made Judah elite?
and when you say "at that time" for Sharmba..are you talking about the first fight...or both?Comment

I'm not trying to start an argument cuz I'm about to be outta here. This is for informational purposes only and I'm sure you already know this: DLH beat him convincingly, Spinks almost shut him out and Collazo KO'd him. I know those were towards the end of his career, but they just aren't the best examples to use.Comment

Also what you failed to suggest is that he was at his best as a lightweight. I've seen those fights and he held his own, after all he was a faded version of himself.I'm not trying to start an argument cuz I'm about to be outta here.
