Steele was in no way biased. otherwise, he would have called out Meldrick on all those low blows he was landing. there were a lot. not really to the balls, but the hips.

All I can say is thank goodness that fight wasnt 15 rounds. Taylor would have been reaaaaally messed up...I think everyone can agree on that.

and Taylor wasnt immediately destroyed after he lost that fight, but he took a horrible beating. He started getting hit more often and often after this fight, it was like a big snowball effect. Chavez took a huge chunk out of Taylor's career, and it started getting worse and worse each time he would have tough fights.

so talk to him for five more seconds to save his win? ya that sounds fair, ha..bottom line is each round is three minutes, just because you felt he was winning for thirty five minutes and 50 seconds doesnt change the fact he got knocked out in the last ten seconds. If he wanted to win, walk towards the ref and acknowledge him like every other fighter that gets knocked down does. He lost, no matter how bad his life turned out, or how a win would make him feel better, he got beat and did it to himself by not answering Steele.

Steele actually counted to 9 before asking Taylor if he was alrite. And as Taylor was ****ed and didnt respond, he stopped the fight.
We clearly saw Taylor take a real beating. The idea that his condition is due to hard drugs has no weight to it at all.
Chavez is a true great because he made one of the greatest comebacks ever.

If Steele gave Taylor another 5 seconds to let him recover that would make Steele a corrupt biased refferee.

I meant giving Taylor a standing 8 count and the friggin fight would have ended by the bell! No way a ref should have taken that fight away from Taylor there. Yes, Chavez made a great comeback, but that doesn't change Steele's incredibly bad call. I'm not accusing him of being corrupt, I'm accusing him of doing a bad job. If it had been in round 11, maybe ok, but not the last 10 seconds of round 12 in a fight Taylor was winning.

                steele stopped tyson-ruddock I a year after chavez-taylor 1.

when else did steele act in favor of king's fighters?

don't forget, chavez's first official loss came on pts, with steele's deductions against chavez being the difference.
steele tried to find the perfect oppurtunity to stop the fight and he did. every one knows steele was tied to Don king. Taylor was winning the fight hands down. the man was going to be shot, at least give him the biggest win of his carreer. what steele did was selfish. what would have happened if he had sent taylor back out there? nothing because chavez wouldnt have even landed a punch. THERE WAS ONLY 5 SECONDS LEFT

Chavez could of landed 5 punches in 5 seconds. And it was 2 seconds, not 5.

The refferees first and foremost priority is the safety of the fighters, not accessing how much time is left and who is ahead on the scorecards.
Taylor was hurt and didnt respond to the question.....end of fight.

The ref is supposed to know when there is 10 seconds left in a round, the ****ing RED LIGHT WAS ON! Worst reffing mistake in the history of the sport.
