I've worn thin on discussing how horrible of a decision this was. I voted in the poll but if you want any further insight you'll have to look up one of the other 1,000 threads like this one here in "non stop boxing".

      No offense.

Possibly the worst moment of big time reffing in the history of boxing. I just cannot believe that it was not Jay Nady that pulled the biggest boner. However, Nady is still the worst ref in boxing on a consistent basis. IMO

Look at Taylor today and tell me that Steel made a bad decision. I respect when Steele said "im not a time keeper, i felt he was in trouble, so i did my job to ensure his safety"

i think it was the wrong decision, however, there were some thinngs that may justify it.....and by that i mean taylor not answering if he was fine....

idk. I will NEVER be sure whether he was right or not.

There are VERY CONVINCING arguments for both sides.

When people assess this, they always forget to look at it from Steele's points of view. Knowing what he knew at that moment, he was absolutely right in stopping the fight.

But everything he didnt know, like there were 3 seconds left and that Taylor was distracted and everything, makes him absolutely incorrect.

taylor took a lot of beatings throughout his career.

taylor wasn't all brain-damaged and slurring his words a few months later after he beat primo ramos a second time, or when he beat aaron davis for the WW title.

blaming his current condition on this fight is inaccurate.
