    One other question.
Will people be watching Hopkins in 50 years time thinking
    "Wow this guy was amazing?"

People will still be watching Hagler but will they be watching & talking about Borenard?

      The Hall of famer won't.
Cos he lost to RJJ & Taylor.
He has an inflated record too with Robert allen making up 3 of his defences.
That is like Calzaghe fighting Manfredo 3 times.
Pfffffft. Even if we take that into consideration - that hopkins lost against the best fighters that he fought against (RJJ & Taylor) - so what? Tommy Hearns lost to the best fighters he ever fought (Hagler, Leonard). Does that mean he's not one of the all time greats or a hall of famer? Absolutely not.

After reading your opinions it's pretty clear you have a strong bias against Hopkins for whatever reason which has severely impaired your judgment.

And 50 years from now, if I'm still alive, I can throw in my Hopkins vs Trinidad DVD (which I'm sure will be like an 8-Track by then) and watch one of the all time great performances in boxing history.

I almost always go with the big puncher with sound fundamentals (Cintron, Wlad, margarito), but not against a 4 star ring general like Hopkins. He will control the fight like bill belechick agains opposing offenses - pavlik will be so frustrated and confused, he might just sit down in the middle and say "**** this". He will let Pavlik think he knows whats going for 4 or 5 rounds, but then he will show him he's got a lot to learn.
        good post. I agree bro.

These poll results are shocking and disturbing, after 86 votes Hopkins somehow has a 48-38 lead. Like I said before, the Hopkins nuthuggers have emerged from hibernation to claim that a 43 year old man will beat a 25 year prime powerhouse.

I guess you guys forgot that Hopkins got beat twice by Pavlik's ***** Jermain Taylor. Pavlik was outboxing Taylor and outjabbing him before he knocked him out and I don't know if you guys noticed but after the 2nd round Pavlik was blocking most of Taylor's jabs and punches with his underrated defense. Pavlik is also an athletic and very smart fighter, he will not be outsmarted by Hopkins like all of you idiots think.

A prime Hopkins could possibly beat Pavlik, but definately not the overrated 43 year old version of Hopkins. Hopkins is gonna get executed.

Wlad, you're wrong alot. But....you're also right sometimes. And, you're right about this. Pavlik is the one that will end Hopkins career. I like Hopkins, and I don't want to see him get hurt. This could be the one.

I dont care what anyone says, you are not going to KO Bernard Hopkins. He will get outworked to a unanimous decision, but he wont get knocked out.

You cant find his chin, and he is so cautious he doesn't give you any chances to KO him.

There is nothing you can do about defense through distance control. If you cut off the ring, Bernard is going to come strait off the ropes at you, with his head.

Kelly is not going to coax Bernard into trading with him, and Bernard is not going to be overly ******* with his punch output, so this would be an awful and frustrating fight to watch.

Bernard wont be fighting to win, he will be fighting to not lose.

I absolutely agree with this. But, many great old ring generals meet a grisly demise by taking that one fight too many. You know what I mean. I could easily see Pavlik being that fight for Hopkins. This fight should not be made, regardless. IMO

The thing about most fighters is, they still think they have it, and try to fight like they did when they were younger, but Bernard doesn't do that.

He knows hes getting old, so he fights more and more cautious. I have honestly never seen anyone fight as cautiously as Bernard.

If one thing in boxing holds true, its that its impossible to knock out a fighter who is fighting to not get knocked out.

Look at Pacman-Barrera 2. Barrera could have survived like that for 20 rounds and it wouldn't have made a difference.

Same thing with Bernard, you're not going to knock the man out if you he doesn't want to get knocked out.

B-hop is one of the most negative fighters around.
Running round the ring with a silly grin isn't ring smarts.
                      It is simply .......not fighting.
