So, what happens if Taylor gets KO'd again? He's got a long way to go to get to the top again, right?

Honestly. He came out different from the first bell, throwing that piston like shot. I thought it was great, he looked so focused and serious. But when Kelly survived the second round, something in Taylor had shut down. I believe he put everything into closing that second round, he couldn't believe his luck that he had Pavlik reeling. I believe what he says, that he was completley out of energy, and he got caught.
I would see Taylor winning because he would fight a smarter fight. Imagine a Taylor that isn't willing to engage at the same level he engaged Pavlik. His skills are far superior to Kelly, he would pull out the crafty decision imo, PLUS the onus is on Kelly to provide the KO again. That could work against Pavlik.
Oh and better defense too from Taylor. Like a child learns from their mistakes, Taylor probabaly has his hands up in his sleep now.Comment

That's just ******... u act as if Taylor didn't have pavlik out on his feet in the 2nd rd. All Taylor has to do is circle pavlik instead of backing into that jab. He had the faster hands to that night and was winning the fight before KO. Taylor go get that boy back or fall your sword, either way it's all good.bad move for taylor, getting knocked the **** out will be fresh in his head when he steps into the ring with pavlik again. it'd be better to fight a couple junior welterweights first to get his confidence back, or better yet, forget pavlik alltoghether, kelly just has his numberComment

I can't agree with you on that at all. I respect your opinion and you are entitled to it.Honestly. He came out different from the first bell, throwing that piston like shot. But that's the problem he's not superior to Kelly skill wise. Kelly has a better jab, far more activity, better combinations, and keeps his hands up. Those are all skill things that I believe Kelly is better at and it was apparent during the fight.
As far a physically Taylor is faster than Kelly. That's about it. Kelly is much more stronger and can't be backed up easily. Also he has a ton of heart and can take a punch. The main probelm I have with people is that they think Kelly is justa brawler when he's so much more than that. That's why I was surprised when everyone talked about how Taylor would outbox Kelly.
When in reality Taylor is a good fighter but is so so technically flawed.Comment

i agree with you ,but that what was 1 of my main concerns with Taylor in a rematch his defence was non existent in the 1st fight ,i have to say i was very very suprised he lost the fight i just did not expect him to lose to Pavlik as much as i like Pavlik he is very ordinary in skill & speed to TaylorHonestly. I don't think Kelly's just a brawler at all. But I still maintain that Taylor is more skilled. And what we saw in that fight post r2 (if you take the man's word) was a jaded fighter in Taylor. So I wouldn't hold those rounds as accurate representations of his ability.I can't agree with you on that at all. I respect your opinion and you are entitled to it.

There seemed to be a huge split when these two styles came together, which is evident by the countless threads 'Who did you have winning?'. So obviously we're seeing two different things. Which is great anyway. Maybe I've a lot to learn about skills or what not.Comment

And then some of yall act like it was a devastating KO or something. He got tired, got caught, and was hurt. It ain't like he was sleep and unconscious, if it was middle of the ring he prolly would have been able to cont. He didn't get put to sleep like Roy did, he wasn't kTFO!Last edited by cortdawg25; 10-23-2007, 11:14 AM.Comment
