gavins170 quote:You have no idea lol ,,, but you have all these opinions on everything else , and you say you dont care how significant that loss is along with not wanting a rematch is to the legacy of KT , just brush that stuff under the carpet eh Wileys style , thats why your becoming a joke Wiley ,,, now you want to stay strict to the topic ,,, I got you nailed to the wall and you cant squirm out of it and you call Floyd a runner he has nothing on you .
"Ducking" a guy that beat you already is the silliest thing I've ever heard of. You duck a guy that you've never fought or one you beat in a close or controversial decision or with a lucky punch. Besides, Phillips didn't have a good enough record to qualify to fight Tszyu later on."
I believe Kostya got all the belts back after the loss to Phillips in 97.
Now Phillips is automatically entitled to a "rematch" with his 15 losses, or whatever it was??
Rodbarker......reeeeeeeeeaaaaaaching.
You'll never get over it will you? Floyd fought bums instead of Tszyu, when Tszyu was the undisputed champion. Floyd signed to fight Gatti when there was an offer out there to get Tszyu and Floyd together, an offer of which Tszyu publicly stated his interest in. If it walks like a duck and smells like a duck, then as we all know IT PROBABLY IS A DUCK.Last edited by Wiley Hyena; 10-20-2007, 09:51 PM.Comment

Not true. Where are you guys even getting this stuff??gavins170 quote:

a) A real champion can and SHOULD rematch a guy who blew you out. Are you telling me that EVERYBODY didn't want to see Forrest face Mayorga again? Or Lennox face Rahman again?
b) Vince Phillips did not have a good enough record...but Calvin Grove (9 losses) did? Old Jesse James Leija did? HUH? Plus, I can give you a list of great champions who fought a guy with middling records multiple times because that guy gave them a tough go.
Being a champion is about taking on the challenges... no? If your toughest challenge is shouting your name, and you cover your ears, then it is appropriate that people question your heart.Comment

Kostya Tszyu went out and fought a bum like Calvin Grove... or an ancient Leija.....BUT VINCE PHILLIPS DID NOT QUALIFY??
Dude, it is these types of statements that make people say that you are unreasonable about Kostya Tszyu.
You are a champion. A guy beats you. Fine. You try to beat the guy to PROVE who is the better man. That is what a champion does.
Kostya Tszyu was offered the choice of rematches: Phillips or Judah. He asked for Judah.

You're exactly right. And Floyd should have wanted the undisputed champion of the world. Instead he fought bums. Not true. Where are you guys even getting this stuff??

Yeah. Phillips beats Tszyu, and then according to Rodbarker Phillips immediately says "I want a rematch." Then, he promptly loses the belt. Tszyu consolidates all the belts and makes history. Then Phillips with his 15 losses says, "hey aren't I entitled to a rematch?" LOL
So, Tszyu signs to fight the undefeated Judah. I call that a good business decision.
Now Floyd passing up on fighting the undisputed champion of the world is a totally different ballgame.
Rodbarker and Dios, you've been OWNED.Comment

They don't have a point, gavins. They're just so pissed off because I laid out a case showing that Floyd ducked Tszyu. (This was after Dios outrageously claimed that Tszyu ducked Floyd!)
They just feel compelled to run down a great champ. It's as simple as that.Comment
