i agree he's a solid boxer. but from what i remember in that fight, he was losing pretty badly. it was a good lucky body shot. i don't think it deserves any more attention than that.

For you to call it lucky, I guess that is the only fight youve ever watched Penalosa in or don't know what it takes to be in that ring. He deserves all the attention he gets because it has been long overdue that he finally gets to show the world his skill allbeit at an older and less capable time of his career... Where was Gerry at in his prime???

He's a good boxer 2 WEIGHT CLASSES UP. DE LEON WAS SCURED. AND THE BOGUS SCORES AT THE END. TELL ME WHO WON THOSE ROUNDS???

he was in and out of the US beating and getting beat by bums so your complaint of him not getting any recognition is ****** and useless.. Your overrate all your fellow pinoy fighters, you were actually giving Randy Sucko credit against Juan Diaz who was losing every ***ing round, your biased and also ****** and try to act like you know what your talking about when you actually DONT.

If Penalosa fought Gonzales again, I'd pick Gonzales. Penalosa isn't a peice of ****, in any way.. but he's just too small, and too old. In his prime, I can't say.. but now.. I'd still pick Gonzales.

It was a slightly lucky shot, because MOST ethical people will tell you that Penalosa was LOSING that fight. When you're losing a fight, and you end it in one shot againat a guy who is getting away with winning most of the rounds, it's either a lucky punch or a PERFECTLY timed punch. And either way, it requires a little more hope and a little less skill for it to work. He wasn't throwing much, and he wasn't winning the fight. Simple as that. Also, where was he in his prime? Collecting those 5 other losses, aside from the De Leon encounter.

I agree.. but where was Gerry at in his prime??? Going through the motions...He ritired because of lack of motivation and resurfaced because of Pacquiao and now is rededicated fighting where he should've long time ago...

i prove my point... biased and ******, cause he went 12 rounds with De leon he was "robbed" same with with Gorres, he went 12 rounds with Montiel and he was "robbed" now stfu..

his opponents were all bums except his last two fights, and he has been fighting before in the US.. had he fought decent opponents AND beat them then he would have the recognition he deserved, but now he was just lucky pacquiao came out to put all the "best pinoy boxers" from the phillipines on undercards to milk you pinoys for money.
