this is a very ****** question. the fight with dlh was bigger because dlh was involved. he is a big name in boxing. mayweather is a nobody. he couldnt get the fans to watch him because he is a boring fighter. and hatton is not that well known here in mexico but he is a very famous guy in his country.

Honestly though, the numbers for Hatton Mayweather will be excellent.

If anything; there will be some fallout from May 5th.

And of course Hatton is not De La Hoya..


It's sad too because this fight could be a classic.

I was thinking the same thing. With Mayweather doing the Dancing With The Stars thing, you think this will create enough interest in the casual viewer to wanna watch his fight? I think so considering how popular DWTS is. Mayweather's being exposed to a whole new audience & this fight could put boxing back in the main stream I think because of it.

Its the bigger fight for boxing, but its not as big publicity wise as DLH v Mayweather and wont come close to the ppv buys.

In all fairness, let's wait until Mayweather-Hatton 24/7.

I believe that 24/7 was the vehicle that leapfrogged "The World Awaits" into the stratosphere.

If Ricky can convince the public that he has a very good chance, and/or if Mayweather can further polarize (yes, that's his intent) the public, then this fight will do ridiculous nums.

The PBF-Baldomir fight had good attendance and very solid PPV sales.

Mayweather-Baldomir outsold Barrera-Juarez, Barrera-marquez, Hopkins-Wright, Cotto-Judah, and sold as much as any of the varrera-Morales fights.
