I'm sure they didn't A lot of people like the simpler things about boxing. A lot of people like when a fighter gets hit hard. I do, too. BUT, I can REALLY appreciate when a fighter can make some miss WILDLY over and over. I foget what round, but when Mayweather fought Baldy, he literally made him miss with the same punch, three times, using the same slipping move. It takes TREMENDOUS talent to do that. It gave me chills, different chills than when I see Tito fight, or when I saw Tyson get KOed. Chills, nonetheless. You watch an athlete like Mayweather in any sport, execute what he tries to pul off and do it perfectly, it's incredible to watch with unbias eyes.
Sad thing about Floyd...

I think Oscar won the fight, every person in my Boxing gym thinks Oscar won the fight. One of the judges think Oscar won the fight, Most of the fans in attendance thought Oscar won the fight.
Max Kellerman is an idiot. I am not one to label people, but Max IS an idiot. Calling Mayweather's performance virtuoso is ridiculous. The compubox numbers were awful. Even Jim Lampley was like this is a great round for Oscar, he is blocking all of Floyd's punches, then compubox pops up and he is like, well apparently...Comment

I'm not doubting that you believe your opinion, BUT I would say. Be careful what you believe with fans in attendance and the HBO crew. De La Hoya has a very loyal following and part of that following, at times, seems to include HBO. Kellerman went overboard, but one might see him doing that because he wants to balance out the opinions at the announce table. Not sure, but it's VERY possible.I think Oscar won the fight, every person in my Boxing gym thinks Oscar won the fight. It's good, but don't make it out to be great, like some Mayweather fans do.I'm sure they didn't A lot of people like the simpler things about boxing. And really, too much defense without offense is not great or even good to watch. Or good by any standard.Comment

* The judge that did score it for Oscar is entitled to his opinion, but the other two disagreed
* Max Kellerman is definitely not an idiot and is entitled to his own opinion
* Jim Lampley is widely known for seeing punches that nobody else saw, yet he's also entitled to his own opinion. Although ultimately I do believe that he agreed Floyd won the fight
* The punch stats were accurate as far as I could see. What matters is that Floyd landed more
With that said, Oscar lost.. Get over it..

It's great to me. I enjoy fighters liek Willie Pep, Pernell Whitaker, Floyd Mayweather. I enjoy small technical things that often-times get overlooked. You don't have to think so, but I think they're great. At the same time I LOVED Corrales/Castillo I, but I enjoy watching a clinic just the same. Simply, for different reasons. Thing to remember, Mayweather tends to throw close to 350-400 punchers per fight. If it goes the distance, that's around 30-35 puncher per round. For someone with GREAT accuracy and tremendous speed, who fights VERY defensively, that's not TOO shabby. Could be A LOT better, of course, but it's pretty good.Comment
