One clear dilemna Berto will face is the fact that the top welterweights will take those shots and keep coming

Berto looked fantastic against Estrada. Cintron would eat him alive and Mayweather would make him look ******.

no kidding ... WBC and IBF tough fights

        he is really kinda ****ed

why would his team give him an eliminator bout so early in his career

keep in mind the guy is 24 years old with a record of 20-0

        very young into his career.

sure Eliminator bouts are good and all ... but Welterweight probably has the best set of Alphabet Champions

Berto getting a crack at ANY of the champs .. let alone Mayweather or Cintron is just ******

Berto is way to raw and inexperienced (compare his age with total pro fight experience)

the guy hasn't even gone a full 12 rounds yet.

My advice to Berto and his people. TAKE THE MAYWEATHER FIGHT!

Take the Cintron fight if its resonably good too!

I've remember Pito Cardona turned down a huge payday against Mosely, Johnson agaisnt Mosley, Lazcano against Mayweather, R. Garcia against Jones Jr. prodagy forgot his name and the list goes on.

These days if a fighter has a chance to get a big money fight they should take it, too many fighters are too protected and end up losing any ways. Cintron is a prime examply that a lose can help a fighter, after all some old school fighter have said that for a fighter to be better or he has to lose first. Not that i would like every fighter to lose before haveing a world title fight but i think it more as every fighter should take on every oppertunity he gets.
Cintron's people took that approach in his fight with margarito when he wasnt ready and it almost derailed his entire career. He is very lucky to be back in the mix. Berto is a rising star, he just shouldnt rise too fast. a fight with mayweather is ok, he will lose, but mayweather doesnt break a guys will, and well he is P4P, so losing to him isnt that big a deal. Cintron, on the other hand, has the potential to end a guys career. Esp. a young guy with suspect defense.

He needs two more good fights to even think about facing those guys, once he gets there he wants to not only win but be able to defend against anyone.

Berto is progressing nicely. I don't think he should fight any of the top guys though. But man he can ****. And he still has his snap late in the fight. Estrada was whooped thoroughly.

Both fights will be difficult for him. i see him fighting cintron. Reason being is that mayweather would not want to fight him cause it wont be the right amount of money. But since he is the mandatory the sanctioning bodies can order him to defend his title

what if whoever the WBC champ is after Mayweather/Hatton

choses to fight the WBA champ in 2008 (Cotto or Mosley)

I would think that another belt holder (WBA) would be an approved title defense for that WBC champion

*Andre Berto being Mandatory kinda screws it up, because if his next fight is indeed for a title .. he's screwed
