He displays tremendous skills in his fights but to the average fan they aren't going to pay 50.00 to watch Mayweather, I'll tell you that much.

And Dios....the fans booed Mayweather like hell in the Baldy fight..lol man.

Can I et an AMEN. One of the most true posts I've seen on this whole site EVER!!

      I voted yes...

However, I don't have a problem with what he does now. If he has a guy hurt, yes he should be explosive. If he feels it is in his best interest not to be explosive, as to avoid counterpunching opportunities for his opponents, then let him do it. His strategy and style has gotten him to the top of the sport, why the **** should he change it?

He would be more exciting if he opened up a lot more, but he might have a loss or two on his record. Fighting smart is not against the rules people.

        Roy

You are right RJJ did carry a lot of lesser fighter's but only after what happened to McClellan, before that he was delivering some of the most memorable KO's ever seen in a boxing ring ,

PBF is just not even comparable too Roy Jones JR when it comes to Entertainment surely you must concede that

The thread was "would you like him if he was more explosive". COMPLETELY LEGITIMATE QUESTION. We like or don't like fighters based on their fight style.

That poster commented on Floyd's money. How is that remotely related to in-ring performance?
          More predictably, you misquoted me.

I wasn't commenting on Floyd's money, I was commenting on his talks about the money. COMPLETELY A LEGITIMATE COMMENT. I judge boxers, especially high profile ones (since they do have the power to influence people), by their attitude and personality outside of the ring as much as their skills inside it. I imagine most of the poster do, since a big chunk of the Floyd Threads don't have to do with his performance in the ring. If you don't, I don't really have a problem with it, and I expect you don't have a problem if I do.

By the way, I interpreted the tread to be "would you like floyd more if [fill in the blank]", so i did.

Bait question alert: Is PBF the only one doing that?

              Everything you posted is true.

However, why would you fault a guy for trying to make extra money?

If he tells the fans he is going to decision De La Hoya, would they have bought his fight? Not as many would have.

When he says he is going to be exciting, he makes extra millions of dollars. I'm pretty sure almost everyone on here would sell out to make an extra couple of millions here and there.

You are upset because a guy brags and talks about his money. Think about that.

C'mon man, his persona is ****** and WACK as ****. He's trying to be like Ali or something but he just totally makes an ass of himself considering he's about as articulate as Zab Judah. You can tell he is a shy little boy who has let the fame go to his head and now he acts like an ass.

But seriously...I don't fault him for saying he's going to knock MFers out. Everyone should say that, it's a way of tricking your mind and putting fans in the seat. But this goes with life...if you say something, then TRY to do it. Against Baldy, Zabby, and Oscar he's preaching he's going to knock the dude out and NEVER once did he really press the action to give what the fans really want...a sensational knockout.
