I'm thinking the Soto-Guzman fight will be a determing factor in the 130 pound division's overlooked heros. Should Pac beat MAB, I'm thinking the winner of the Soto-Guzman fight gets him, should he want him, after that. If not, maybe they'll persue a fight with JMM and then a Pac-Man fight, either way I can't wait.
Maybe because they are old and looking for their final paychecks?
and pac is the one who will give them that right? don't be naive and not think that boxing is a business. why did pbf called out odlh? for the paycheck. now, be patient grasshopper...
Ive said this a million times. Manny is getting by with just fighting guys with big names but there all done. MAB, EM, & Larios are all done and Pac gets super credit for those wins despite the fact that they already loss before he fought them and everyone already predicts him to win by a KO anyway.
Someone on here the other day said that he puts Pac at #1 on the P4P list because he's pretty sure that he will knock MAB out. Well, if your sure he will knock the guy out then what is so special about it? Everyone thinks Pac will just about run through MAB but yet when he wins they will act like he knocked out Juan Diaz or something. Pac wont fight Guzman, Soto, Diaz, Casmayor, Campbell, or anyone who seems to be a real threat but yet they act like he is doing something special.
EM gets shutout by a bum like Raheem which easily proves he's shot and then Pac knocks him out like 2 times after that and people act like he did something so great. Give me a break

damn, you ppl are impatient. when pac moved up to 126 from out of nowhere, the big names are em/mab/jmm. he fought ALL of them in his next four fights, what more could u ask for? and as what happened, he win some, lose some. did mab or jmm wanted the rematch immediately? no. so it's not pac's fault that they'll have their rematch late in their careers. pac gave erik a trilogy immediately in em's prime and now you're calling him past his prime after being brutally knocked out.
guzman and soto were only on the elite radar since last yr, so they have to fall in line. casamayor/diaz? lol makeup ur mind, some guys here wanted pac to clean up the 130 and here you go wanting him to move up. geez, it'll all happen, u guys are just impatient.
Except for Hernandez and Solis which are tune-ups, most are money fights which Pacquiao's camp would definitely capitalize. 2008 will be tougher for him with possiblly Marquez and Soto in line. Guzman and Valero are very much a possibility. Once Manny gets rid of Marco he'll make these fights for his legacy.
Funny how people here would say Pacquiao was fighting old and shot fighters. He overwhelmes his opponent with KOs and now theyre retireables
i bet if pacquiao beats diaz in the future this mexicans will say that pac should move another weight hahahahaha. in the end they will have no more mexican boxers to call bums.
By Cliff Rold - Nothing in boxing is ever 100-percent given. Manny Pacquiao (44-3-2, 35 KO, #1 at 130 lbs. Ring Magazine) defeating, probably knocking out, Marco Antonio Barrera (63-5, 42 KO, #3) for a second time this Saturday on HBO Pay-Per-View, live from Las Vegas, is pretty close.
Their first fight was a one-sided 11th round stoppage in favor of the Philippines favorite son in 2003. Four years later, Pacquiao, 28, appears still near his prime while Barrera, 33, has shown evidence of being well past his. Unless Pacquiao shows up distracted or out of shape, this one should be a thrilling but one-sided show.
Certainly the fans won’t react that way. There were some who felt Barrera earned a win in a decision loss against Juan Manuel Marquez in his last outing. Off that and his reputation, Barrera will have his believers, those who can’t help but think that the great old warrior can summon one last miracle. Boxing has long thrived on that sort of hope. It sells.
And ultimately that’s why we’re seeing this bout this weekend. It’s a business bout more than a competitive one and for Pacquiao, whose business has been mired in contract disputes between Top Rank and Golden Boy Promotions, it at least gets him back in the ring. He’ll make a nice chunk of change for a fight that, when the names are read, sounds better than it is. In the long run, it isn’t the worst thing. This column isn’t about the long run.
Pacquiao’s run from 2003 to now has been a remarkable one. His first victory over Barrera made him the first, and only, man in history to capture the lineal World Flyweight (112) and World Featherweight crowns in his career. Coupled with his epic draw against Juan Manuel Marquez in 2004 and 2-1 victory margin in a series with the legendary Erik Morales from 2005-06, Pacquiao emerged as the only man in the race with Floyd Mayweather for pound-for-pound supremacy. In the eyes of some, including myself, he passed him in 2006. [details]
Cliff Rold is just sour-graping. Typical of writers who eventually eats a lot of crow.
I remember Cliff Rold predicting this and that against Pac saying he's one dimensional and all and yet he continually eats crow.
So it's no surprise that this writer will come up with excuses since he has been eating his words on a consistent basis concerning Pac.
Also, those who know boxing knows that Fake Floyd is but a product of a dwindling American boxing desperate to produce a fighter which whom can consider itself best. That is why it clings like a leech to Fake Floyd, because it has none.

EVeryone's a bum for you. And that includes Fake Floyd.
I agree with this article, and I have been saying the same about pac's recent opposition for a while now. I dont blame him, because he is maximizing his income, and that's what I (and probably all the people who talk ****, if they ever saw serious money in their lives) would do.
I blame the idiots who think is Mayweather is a coward and Pac is the hero for doing the same thing
