Manny has faced a lot better opposition period. And did you see the 3rd Morales fight? Yes, he did BRUTALLY KO morales.
morales was not hurt he just didnt wanna fight anymore because his legs were weak....it wasnt anywhere near a brutal KO..

i think that should tell us that he was hurt... i agree that he might have had weak legs, after only three rounds, but that does not mean he wasn't hurt...

he hasn't fought JMM because JMM (or let's say his manager) didn't want to take it citing the purse as too little... it's not manny's fault...

he fought morales after erik got schooled by raheem because he lost the first fight and wanted to prove he can beat him, prime or no prime, cause having morales in your resume is one heck of an accomplishment...

he has not fought guzman because guzman has to wait in line... guzman is very well hyped and known now that we'll prolly see himself and pac slug it out next year...

he fought larios because he wanted to give a show HERE in the Philippines... larios is the only fighter who agreed to fight him here... do you think erik, MAB, guzman or even JMM will agree to come over to the Philippines to fight manny? i dont think so... it was business as well as boxing...
Yeah i can see the improvement, but not much. He still has a long ways to go to become a complete fighter. Don't get me wrong, I like him but I don't think he is the best. I don't think he is #2 either. I think guzman prolly can get him and I think JMM stops him next time they fight.
All that other stuuf about losing and getting vengence is nonsense. No way Floyd gets away with the same thing and who wants to redeem themselves against a fighter who has just lost. If he wanted to give show in the Phillipines, that's good for the Phillipine People, but larios is not helping is resume or stock in the chase for the title of the best fighter

mannnn, sometimes u have good insights but this one here is totally way off and for the books. IT WAS ****ING 3 ROUNDS! Morales who had to go under a special velocity strength training, would have his legs give out in 3rounds simply because he felt weak all by himself???

i agree that he still has to improve a lot when you compare him to floyd, long ways to go like you said but their styles suit their arsenal... pac maybe technically flawed compared to floyd but his relentless aggresiveness negates his weaknesses... i think number 2 though is just fair for manny because of what he has done recently... i mean, he does not need to be as complete as floyd or as defensive as winky wright to be ranked high, his performance speaks for itself... if we categorize it:

            Pac - best in offense
            Wright - best in defense
Floyd - best balance of both

guzman-pacquiao is a pick'em fight IMO... this is the closest we can get to a PBF-Pac match up... both have KO power and have ridiculous hand speed... slight advantage to pac because of his experience fighting erik... i have to disagree with JMM though, i would say Pac KO's JMM late, with Pac sustaining swollen cheeks and eyes...

again Pac fought morales because a lot of people agreed that raheem was just a bad match-up for erik and manny was a more suitable option... manny does not ran away (or box from afar) from contact and will slug it out with his opponent... that's what made the fight still compelling and marketable...

the larios fight made Pinoys love him more because he showed that he wants to share the experience... does not help his resume but his charisma plummeted with that fight...

Can you tell me which P4P fighter Cotto dominated? Last time I checked Barrera was at number 4 when he got dominated. Morales was rated number 9. (2nd fight) (He was at number 5 before he lost to Raheem)

Mayweather got his P4P#1 coz of his past fights. He KOed Corrales, Manfredo, Chavez and most importantly Hopkins (#1) lost his fight with Jermain. It doesn't matter whether he decisioned Judah and Cotto KOed him. PBF has already established his position...Cotto is just climbing.

Boxing is a business. Pacquiao makes twice the money fighting barrera than he would fighting valero, soto, guzman. I would rather see him fight one of those young tigers, but barrera has the name and the fan base to sell alot more pay per view buys. Money talks.

DIAZ A NATURAL WELTERWEIGHT??? Are you kidding me? David Diaz works out at a gym I go to when I'm in the city. Hell, he's not even a "natural" junior welterweight. Other than Santa Cruz which he caught with some lucky shots, name 1 decent fighter that Diaz has Ko'd. Name 1.

Dangerous David wears his opponents down with his workrate and stamina, all good. But I was at the Diaz/Morales fight and shots that Morales would have absolutely ate up were affecting him. His legs were buckling and he barely had the strength to make it to the bell.

I give credit to Pac for really emptying out what was left in Morales's tank. Because, in effect that's basically what he did. I think you can see the difference between the 1st Pac/Morales fight and the 3rd. Manny wasn't even really ripping him that hard but Terrible's legs were so unsteady he was hitting the canvas.

I agree with that much; what Morales had left at the top level Manny took from him by going to the body in round six of their second fight. No one had ever gone to his body that rough and it just ate him up.
